I think Manchin ends up winning re-election in WV, but it will be close.
The ‘Rats lose Donnelly and Heitkamp, and probably lose Tester and McCaskill. Bill Nelson and Bob Menendez are in trouble, yet I wouldn’t count them out. I wish the GOP would pour some money into Delaware and constantly call Tom Carper out as the wife beater that he is. Another moron that needs to be ousted is Sheldon Whitehouse (this race is a sleeper).
Maybe what happened in the Senate yesterday injects some momentum into the Jim Renacci v. Sherrod Brown and Lou Barletta v. Bob Casey, Jr. races. Also, Geoff Diehl v. Fake Indian.
The sleeper races are in Minnesota. The GOP needs to start showing Keith X Ellison and smug “Minnesota nice” cretin Amy Klobuchar on the same screen. The GOP could be on the verge of a monumental victory in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and this could include flipping three congressional seats (taking out Collin Peterson in the process).
If Flake doesn’t support Kavanaugh, Martha McSally is toast. I’m concerned that his TDS and his anti-Catholic bigotry could overcome him (I sure hope not). My hope that his co-religionists on the committee (Orrin Hatch, Mike Lee and Mike Crapo) talk him off the ledge.
I’m not sure that the ‘Rats take the House. They might win a net 20 seats (I live in a district, VA-10, where the incumbent Barbara Comstock hacked off those 40% of us who are conservative among GOP primary voters and is most likely to lose). I think they will pick off veterans like Pete Sessions, but they might only win 1 or 2 seats in California. There is encouraging news in districts that the ‘Rats thought they would flip, like the Miami area district represented by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (corrupt ‘Rat Donna Shalala is the candidate, but the GOP has a Cuban-American news anchor as its candidate who appears to be a superstar in the making). I think this morning that Lindsey Graham and Brett Kavanaugh may have turned the tide yesterday.
Kavanaugh: Neither do I, Senator.
Then Kavanaugh out-niced the Minnesota Nice by apologizing after the break.
I think Lindsay and Kavanaugh became millstones yesterday. Im on a lot of apolitical, sports-related messageboards that responded to Kavanaugh the way FR responded to Strzok.
Pushing ahead with Kavanuagh is a tactical error. Withdraw him, nominate that woman Barrett whos even more Pro-life.
In addition, I trust 538s forecasts. Their methodology is sound and they have a track record of accuracy. Theyre giving the Dems the same chance to take the Senate they gave Trump to win; about 35%.
