Kavanaugh needs to go Clarence Thomas
Self and Clarence Thomas | Spetmeber 26, 2018 | Self -

Posted on 09/26/2018 10:28:39 AM PDT by HonorInPa

Judge Kavanaugh needs to prepare a pissed-off statement for the hearings, ala Judge Thomas in 1991...

Judge Thomas: Senator, I would like to start by saying unequivocally, uncategorically, that I deny each and every single allegation against me today that suggested in any way that I had conversations of a sexual nature or about pornographic material with Anita Hill, that I ever attempted to date her, that I ever had any personal sexual interest in her, or that I in any way ever harassed her.

A second, and I think more important point. I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting. I think that this hearing should never occur in America. This is a case in which this sleaze, this dirt, was searched for by staffers of members of this committee, was then leaked to the media, and this committee and this body validated it and displayed it at prime time over our entire nation. How would any member on this committee, any person in this room, or any person in this country, would like sleaze said about him or her in this fashion? Or this dirt dredged up and this gossip and these lies displayed in this manner? How would any person like it?

The Supreme Court is not worth it. No job is worth it. I am not here for that. I am here for my name, my family, my life, and my integrity. I think something is dreadfully wrong with this country when any person, any person in this free country would be subjected to this.

This is not a closed room. There was an FBI investigation. This is not an opportunity to talk about difficult matters privately or in a closed environment. This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace.

And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I’m concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. — U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.

I respectfully disagree. Thomas’ was a brilliant strategy because it turned the tables on the always race-bating dems. All Kav has to do is confidently tell the truth, just like he did to Martha McCallum. The truth is on his side. The good guys will win this.

It would be very hard to say anything better than did Thomas when he called it a “high-tech lynching.” Kavanaugh isn’t black, so the lynching allusion won’t work. But maybe there is something better. We’ll see.

H doesn’t have to say a thing. Her story is so full of bs, it’ll sink itself.

YES. Kavanaugh seems like a nice guy, an ivory-tower intellectual. He probably doesn’t have it in him to be a political street fighter, or talk like one.

But SOMEONE needs to start trashing Feinstein and especially Avenatti in especially memorable terms (leave the women out of it)

Kavanaugh has to be a whole less robotic than he was on Fox. He was clearly repeating the attorney-approved lines about clearing his name, etc. He needs to show some real anger and address the Dems with eye contact.

I wish I could believe that 100%.

He’s a Bush Republican, GOP Inc Club type guy. He thought if we were nice and pleasant, things would go smoother for him in life. It has, until now.

Complete misjudgment of his opposition and the political climate.

Fight.

Debra Katz is demanding that Ford be served a can of Coke at the hearing with a pubic hair on it.

Impossible.

You're talking about someone who grew up in a community of freedman planted in post-Reconstruction Georgia.

Lifted and worked with his hands from the time he was 10 years-old, and faced down opposition every day of his life.

Was a Black Panther in college.

That is not Brett Kavanaugh.

“Kavanaugh has to be a whole less robotic than he was on Fox. He was clearly repeating the attorney-approved lines”

Interesting. To me he came across as extremely depressed, in a fog, and doing his best not to cry. That’s how any person who’s been wrongfully accused would feel, I think. I know I would.

Still as stirring and CORRECT As the first time he said it!

I have it one good authority that Kavanaugh was naked in front of three nurses, just moments after his birth.

At least directly address the Senators - “you took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and yet several of you (name names) have said publicly that I have to prove my innocence. What more fundamental right exists in the Constitution that ‘innocent until proven guilty’? Nearly half of this body was never going to vote me for political reasons, When that appeared not to be working you (looking at Feinstein) unleashed the sleaze machine.

‘The truth is a fortress.’

Can’t remember who said that, but it’s certainly true.

I like that. Truth is indeed a fortress. That will be my mantra today as I go about my business and ignore Fox News as I’ve been doing the past few weeks except for the Kavanaugh interview.

Sadly, ‘swearing to tell the truth, so help me God’ means nothing if you don’t believe in God.

That’s good! Or just compare the Dem tactics to defamation of character and then launch into a long, detailed definition of it.
