[Snip] It wasnt as solid of a night for CBS, though. The premiere of the final season of The Big Bang Theory scored only a 2.4 in the demo, down around 40% from its premiere last year and from the 2.7 average of its previous season. Young Sheldon (1.7) suffered an even greater year-to-year drop, falling 2.1 points from its series premiere and also down from its first season average (2.2).
The series premiere of Magnum P.I. fell 0.5 from its Young Sheldon lead-in, and scored a low 1.2 in the 9 p.m. hour, while Bull returned to a 0.9 also down from its previous season premiere (1.3) and average (1.2).

Big Band has Jumped the Shark with the wedding. Now where can they go? Writing and gags were weak.
BINGO!
Years ago I was invited with a theater full of other people to review new pilots for sitcoms. All were atrocious. The audience in their survey cards gave all the shows a failing mark. I never saw any of them on television.
Afterwards, it occurred to me that people in Burbank must have no judgment or taste whatsoever. Who in his right mind, after reading those scripts, would waste money on a pilot that was obviously a dud? (Maybe I answered my own question.)
Vikings is awesome. Please thank your good friend for us, it’s one of the very few decent shows left on TV that’s worth watching.
Just trying to make a point about how stupid this “gaydar” stuff can be.
.
She isn’t anything to get excited about.
When she’s 50 everyone will think she’s 75.
She is kind of a hottie. I doubt she is just his beard.
I’m in the biz too and I know max, been to his production office at Paramount. There are a LOT OF HOMOS here with girlfriends and wives and I know personally some of these gay guys just hire pretty women just for the pictures.
Actors who did modeling have a lot of pictures out there that look "gay."
Just saw the first half hour of Magnum. Besides being short, gay, and Mexican, the actor doesn’t have the attitude. Totally unwatchable.
Yeah. To trivialize actual slavery and racism by pretending a black man could have been Secret Service Agent James West then, while making inside jokes about being black, was not only terrible cinema but imbecilic propaganda.
Bayer. Aspirin. 1900.
Birth of Big Pharma.
As another poster already pointed put, there are only a few basic stories. Perhaps a few as three- man vs man, man vs the environment, and man vs himself. With that in mind Shakespeare was recycling Homer and Hemingway was recycling Shakespeare.
It is simply silly and shortsighted to suggest that no “good” artistic efforts are POSSIBLE, which was your original contention. Now if you want to say that nothing original is to come, that's irrelevant, since that would disqualify Michelangelo as being a plagiarist of Ancient Greek artists.
The other thing about the original is it finally showed Vietnam vets as normal people, not sick or screwed up.
I watched out of boredom, channel surfing. The girl is easy on the eyes, but the show sucked worse than NAFTA.
I love your posts about hollywood. They’re fascinating. Of course they only confirm my suspicions but it’s always great to hear the details. I can’t help it, I’m nosey.
Got anything else good?
I’m not saying there aren’t good artists. I’m just saying there’s no new ground that’s being broken. Greta Van Fleet is a good band, but it’s still a rehash of Led Zeppelin.
I hate to admit but the shows we tend to watch off streaming are British. Humans is a good example of an awesome sci fi British series. And then there were None, from Lifetime network, was a great series. Can’t say I am watching much at all from the big 3 networks. Gotham and Supergirl would be the exceptions.
I could. A LOT. But I stay low because the DU has a contest on trying to figure out my name and after 8 years, they have nothing.
I’ll give you a freebie: remember the movie BOOK OF ELI with denzel? The writer is a conservative who hated Oprah so much he wrote in the scene where Gary Oldman was looking at “crap” and made sure Oprah’s mag was in the pile. There were 2 versions one in theater and made sure it was in the theater version. Blu Ray, unsure but I think the studios removed it LOL. He’s a pal of mine..
