Thought you had an AR 15 and dogs :)
You need neighbor’s to feed the dogs, though neighbor’s aint entirely dependable.
I have iSmartAlarm. It’s ok and it fits your price range: $0/mo
I looked it up. It seems a bit pricey. Keep looking. (btw I have 23 years in the electronic security business.)
We have been very pleased with SimpliSafe.
I think for your needs you just need motion activated cameras.
No sense in worrying about it from afar, just need evidence and insurance.
I’ve had ADT for years. Pretty good at staying on top of things. Hate a contract though. Look at Simpli Safe.
My plan is I am old and poor.
Nothing to see or steal here. :)
Do NOT go with ADT. Trying to get out of their contract is worse than pulling teeth. I hate their effing guts.
Get some security cameras and a watch dog. Costs less and works.
Alo. Love it and no monthly fee.
Something like this? Id look for 1080 cameras tho.....
I am as well...

BTW, the XT is an outdoor camera,
“Great for inside or outdoors, night or day, Blink XT is our latest wire-free security camera.”
It’s what I am looking at for a couple of critical locations.
.
Very pleased with it. Low price to buy, low cost to have monotored (optional), and no problems so far except replacing 2 batteries.
This is wireless, monitoring is optional. Relatively inexpensive. You can program it to call certain numbers if it is set off. I have mine programmed to call me. Had one false alarm when a sensor fell off, otherwise no problems at all.
Just installed Blink in a beach house about 2 weeks ago. so far, so good. I have 2 cameras. Been able to remotely take a pic. or video any time I want. The motion detector works adequately and the picture quality is pretty good. Time will tell whether it is reliable in bad weather, as the noreasters and winter months are on their way.

The classic reliable security is hardwire.
If there is technology where drilling holes down inside the walls, without drilling down through the roof, that is a plus.
PRO
No excess wifi signals floating through your house. 5G is a cancer risk.
No batteries to change.
Hardwire cannot be defeated.
The Technology has been matured for decades.
CON
Extra work and planning.
