I am thinking about setting up a wireless security system. I want just the basic plug in and go, no monthly fees.

BTW, the XT is an outdoor camera,

“Great for inside or outdoors, night or day, Blink XT is our latest wire-free security camera.”

It’s what I am looking at for a couple of critical locations.

Installed Simplisafe 3 years ago in my business.

Very pleased with it. Low price to buy, low cost to have monotored (optional), and no problems so far except replacing 2 batteries.

This is wireless, monitoring is optional. Relatively inexpensive. You can program it to call certain numbers if it is set off. I have mine programmed to call me. Had one false alarm when a sensor fell off, otherwise no problems at all.

Just installed Blink in a beach house about 2 weeks ago. so far, so good. I have 2 cameras. Been able to remotely take a pic. or video any time I want. The motion detector works adequately and the picture quality is pretty good. Time will tell whether it is reliable in bad weather, as the noreasters and winter months are on their way.

I have insurance. There is nothing in my house that can’t be replaced in fact I declutter all the time. But a nice fat check would give me the opportunity to edit without the sweat equity.

The classic reliable security is hardwire.
If there is technology where drilling holes down inside the walls, without drilling down through the roof, that is a plus.

PRO

No excess wifi signals floating through your house. 5G is a cancer risk.
No batteries to change.
Hardwire cannot be defeated.
The Technology has been matured for decades.

CON

Extra work and planning.

Honeywell is a standard of commercial buildings. It is decades old.

Their home version is Honeywell Vista 15P 6160RF.

Honeywell Vista 15P

This systems are not just for burglary anymore either. With the Honeywell Vista systems you have the capability to monitor for fire, flooding, temperature change and carbon monoxide. There are a good amount of devices on the market that can be added.

Honeywell Vista systems are also capable of accomodating home automation using either the TUXEDO Color Touchscreen Keypad or the Honeywell VAM. You will be able to control lighting, thermostats, locks and blind/shade controls.

I want a wireless camera I can store the images to a computer besides the memory card on the camera itself. Plus hi def images recorded. A camera that can be plugged in for power.
One that I can view my place away from home and be emailed and or phoned if someone tries to enter the place or steal a package outside my door.

Plus be very simple to setup.

Our Ring’ doorbell is $3/month for cloud storage, which isn’t too bad. I love it so far. Video quality is excellent.z Also get ‘alerts’ from others in the same neighborhood. It’s upgradable to additional cameras, but then that costs more.

Like what you found, should have researched more but that works for me for now....
