Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and West Virginia all have adult obesity rates of at least 35 percent
Prevalence ranged from 22.6 percent in Colorado to 38.1 percent in West Virginia
Middle-age adults between ages 45 and 54 are twice as likely to be obese as young adults between ages 18 and 24
Data came from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, which is a survey conducted via telephone by the CDC and state health departments.
In addition to having the highest obesity prevalence, West Virginia also led the nation in the percentage of adults with diabetes at 15.2.
West Virginia had the nation's highest drug-overdose death rate in 2015 and was named in a Wallethub study as the least happy state in America.
The CDC report revealed the obesity rates increased as level of education decreased.

CT is full of ugly women. I’m afraid my son’s will think they are the norm.
When discussing this same thing with my doctor, I pointed out that Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the year he won his 5th mr Olympia, would have been ‘morbidly obese’ by those charts at 6’2 and 243. O’m 6’ and 202 with 17 percent body fat, but ‘need to lose weight’ ?!?!?
Eyewash, please!
The large number of Asians in CA must really bring the total number down.
My drug of choice is food.
Schools ought to be required to institute sports and physical activity programs based on military fitness guidelines. Letting your 7 year balloon up to 180 pounds should constitute neglect. Society should voluntarily institutionalize fat-shaming.
Why do I see only 4 states colored in deep red, the states at or above 35%?
I’m 6’3 and 215 lbs of muscle. I carry 11% body fat and I am considered “overweight” by the BMI index.
Why are there more than four now?
Not a one of these 30% or more could qualify for health insurance before Obozzocare unless they were on a group policy from their employer. Sadly, I have seen men I served with in the bush back in 68-69 who are 300 plus now! Last time I used the VA some 3 plus years ago, I saw several younger Vets in the ER who were closer to 400 lbs.
I noticed a new Church’s Fried Chicken in Slidell the other day. Right on Gause Blvd so not in dindu territory. Yum, have to check it out.
My wife wouldn't let me go on the cruise this year because she thought all that shipboard food would kill me. Therefore she demanded that I lose 100 pounds in order to go on the next cruise.
You can see the August 17 weigh-in recorded by Steve Kane Show co-host Brian Craig featured in this DOCUMENTARY about the Sav A Lot Nutrition center. When I hit the 100 lb weight loss I will have an important message for all the peoples of the world (No, not a warning to stay about from the moon Europa).
Oh, and you can see my secret on easily losing all this weight in the documentary. BTW, the Sept. 28 weigh will be live-casted on YouTube by Brian Craig.
Yes, White people do overeat and get too many tats.
Same here.
I am guilty of the first and completely innocent of the second.
No ink, not now, not ever.
So quit allowing ETB card holders to buy junk food. We see carts full of chips etc in line at Wallyworld and paid for with our money.
I wish our politicians agreed with you!
