Generally, the liquor store should have some. I get ginger beer in Harris Teeter and Food Lion. I understand many people will use ginger ale instead, either due to not finding ginger beer or just taste preference (a little lighter and sweeter?)
We had one for years. I’m 75 and in an apt.....I’ll just go to the rec center. Warm and free coffee....Yes!!
Buying all those bottles of water. It were much easier and cheaper to just fill up empty milk jugs and buckets from the tap.
Grandma wasnt going to be caught with her pants down.
“My country tis of thee”...........oy vay!!! Not what the founding fathers envisioned.
Yup. And when the power is out, their EBT cards wont work either. Panic time.
I know people for whom daily food purchasing (no food on hand) is actually a diet plan. They have no (or believe they have no) self-control and would binge eat whatever is in the house mindlessly while watching TV or surfing the net.
LOL!!!
Ya, one would think while I was in the H2O Biz I would have perfected this during those quiet 12 hour shifts. Oh well, as usual Im a day late and 80 Gazzillion Yen short.
Everyone over here is in a panic. Its driving Me nuts.
We moved to Houston in 69, in the first year we learned about caines. Board up, Stock up, Pray and ride it out. My biggest concern the first time was My $11.95 Timex Watch Id bought with hard earned money. I found it 3 days later on a Slide in the backyard down the street.
It Took a lickin and kept on a Ticking just had to shake the H2O out of it and wind it up.
I was at the Cary NC one last evening and it was very civil.
I am well aware of how over-hyped many storms are, my daughter will be graduating in May with a meteorology degree. There are also times when you should have the smarts to know it’s the real thing and to get out of dodge.
Wasn’t in the Gulf Coast area until a couple month after Katrina.
Can not speak for N.O. was along MS Coast.
was there for almost 3 years helping out and never heard anyone who blamed Bush.
Actually, never heard anyone complain.
Too many people wait until the last minute. I don’t get it.
I believe that the OLD camp stoves utilized CHARCOAL to generate cooking heat. Those could well be dangerous in closed spaces.
In the Coleman type stoves, they utilize PROPANE as a fuel. Many many homes also use PROPANE for both heating and cooking. A little ventilation insures safety. The big safety act with the Coleman is to instantly disconnect and remove the little gas tank when done A very strong internal spring powered closure insures no problems. Also the tank used is quite little and takes up next to no room.
My sister lives in Virginia kind of inland and she was gassing up her vehicles and buying gas for her chain saw. She had plenty of food and was planning on filling her bath tubs full of water and purchasing from bleach for purification purposes if needed.
Trump will be blamed for this storm the way Bush was for Katrina when some of the damned fools on the coast don’t evacuate and die.
Oh sure, they were hard at work and couldn't get time off, /s.
More like they didn't want to put the crack pipe down.
I remember the morning after Al Gore’s “Super Storm Sandy” watching an interview with a family that had been in the path.
They were standing in their dry yard complaining they had no food!!!!
Where is the Darwin award when we need it? LOL!
(You know who these people vote for!!)
That may be the case with some. For most of the crowd, I'm going to guess it was poor planning. And for at least some of the ones who didn't initially have money for supplies, I'm going to guess that a significant percentage didn't have money because of bad financial decisions.
They’ll be the same ones that complain nobody came to rescue them and sue for new housing.
