She shouldn’t represent this country at these tournaments.

I worked out a long time - 6 days - 7 days a week. Never, ever was there a woman even close to that in the gyms at anytime where I was. That looks like a dude. Like a dude on the juice. Look at those shoulders / armpits / upper back. And the forearms. I could pull 240 lbs repeatedly on the low row machine (I weighed 180 lbs or so), did tremendous one-arm reps (each arm) from 15lbs to 85lbs constantly (10 reps in 5lb increments - like 140 reps each arm. My forearms weren’t that big.

I never did steroids. But there were guys there that did. Several of them. You can easily tell who is and who isn’t.

One guy changed so much I didn’t recognize him from across the room (about 30 feet away).

former tennis umpire:

9 Sept: TWEET: Richard Ings, CEO of Australian Sports Anti Doping Authority (2005 to 2010)
Umpiring is so easy from the top of the grand stand.
I can also confirm that Carlos Ramos earned his pay in that match. His pay? US$450 which is the daily rate all USTA umpires are paid
https://twitter.com/ringsau/status/1038953093717581826

Australian dollars quoted in the following:

10 Sept: news.com.au: Incredible truth about chair umpire in Serena Williams’ controversy
by Jai Bednall with AP
Former professional chair umpire Richard Ings has revealed the Portuguese official was paid the princely sum of $633 for taking charge of the Osaka-Williams encounter.
That’s only a shade more than the $548 that 23-time grand slam winner Williams earned every second she was on court while losing 6-2 6-4...

It comes seven years after the New York Times revealed top chair umpires were skipping the US Open because of how poorly it paid officials.
Since then daily rates have improved, from $350 to $633, but Ings said, in his experience, rates didn’t increase for the latter stages of the tournament, including the final. In a series of tweets, he said officials spend about 12 hours a day on site...

Many, Ings included, believe Ramos followed the rule book to the letter — and should be lauded for having the courage to call the violations as he saw them...

I once introduced myself to a “new” coworker at a company function. Turns out it was a guy I’d known for 8 years, who had taken up roids in the last few months.

I was appalled with the winner being reduced to tears. And then there was the self-serving “apology”. The silver lining is we have another look into the dark soul of those among the entitled who have lost touch with everyone and everything that isn’t about them.

Yeah I worked out with 2 other guys often (father / son). I asked the father what happened to “that one guy”. He point and said - “That’s him!”. I said no, the guy with the Corvette and he repeated what he said. No I said and told another story and he repeated what he said.

Boy did that guy change. He was 30% bigger. At least.

the former umpire I posted about earlier.

9 Sept: Sydney Morning Herald: It is Serena Williams who owes an apology to umpire Carlos Ramos
By Richard Ings
(Richard Ings was a professional chair umpire from 1986 to 1993 and was ATP Tour Executive Vice-President, Rules and Competition, from 2001 to 2005)
Spare a thought for umpire Carlos Ramos of Portugal...
Even four decades of distinguished professional umpiring experience would not have prepared Ramos fully for what was about to happen. I should know, as the memories and scars of my own welcome-to-the-job match are fresh even more than 30 years later.

It happened at the 1987 US Open. I was the chair umpire for the fourth-round stadium court match between John McEnroe and Slobodan Zivojinovic where I issued a warning, point penalty and a game penalty against McEnroe.
The game penalty, for a string of obscenities directed at me, came at 4-5, costing McEnroe the set and making the match one set all...
As someone that has sat in the umpire’s chair in front of a raucous full house US Open crowd and been tested under fire in front of a global television audience, I have a great deal of empathy and admiration for Ramos and his officiating...

The game penalty was triggered after Williams, in a lengthy tirade, loudly accused the umpire of being a “thief” stealing points from her. Ramos let the tirade slide, showing great composure until Williams accused him of cheating.
All players know that publicly attacking the honesty of the umpire is going to result in an immediate code violation.
Ramos made absolutely the correct calls as a chair umpire in each of these three incidents...

The decisions made by Ramos had nothing to do with sexism or racism. They had everything to do with observing clear breaches of the grand slam code of conduct and then having the courage to call them without fear or favour...
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/tennis/it-is-serena-williams-who-owes-an-apology-to-umpire-carlos-ramos-20180909-p502q2.html

Ings mentions Ramos letting Serena’s tirade slide at first, but has anyone counted the number of times she actually verbally abused Ramos. from my reckoning, it is at least three times. saying to him “you stole a point” is no different from calling him a “thief” as far as I’m concerned. plus why aren’t the MSM mentioning this threat:

9 Sept: MetroUK: It’s Serena Williams who owes US Open umpire Carlos Ramos an apology – not the other way around
by George Bellshaw
Here’s a fragment of what Serena said: ‘You owe me an apology. ***You will never ever ever be on another court of mine as long as you live. You are a liar. Say it, say you’re sorry. You stole a point from me. You’re a thief, too.’...
This wasn’t personal. Serena made it personal...

‘Perhaps it’s not the finish we were looking for today,’ said one prominent commentator, adding ‘This mama is a role model and respected by all.’

ICBW, but I'm pretty sure those are the words of Katrina Adams. Adams is NO "commentator", but rather the head of the USTA and she said this on the podium at the start of the awards presentation.

She went apesh@ from roid rage.

One can only imagine what all those PEDs will do to her physiology over the years, even when she quits.

It is obviously not helping her psychologically right now.

I have determined that anyone who says everyone does it is using that to justify their own immoral behavior.
In other words I watch anyone close that says that.

Naomi was given the Trump treatment. This is what you get when you won and you were not supposed to beat the chosen favorite.
