Former Cruz Spokesman: 'It's Possible' O'Rourke Could Win
The Hill ^ | September 09, 2018

Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) former campaign spokesperson said that it’s “possible” for Cruz to lose his reelection bid to Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

Rick Tyler, who served as Cruz’s former communications director during his 2016 presidential run, appeared on MSNBC Sunday and admitted that Cruz could lose in the red state.

“As the former Cruz strategist, it does seem as though the signs are that Ted Cruz might actually lose this race?” MSNBC host Kasie Hunt asked.

Tyler said that even in a predominately Republican state, O’Rourke is posing a real challenge for the senator.

“It’s possible

I am amazed at the Beto signs in Dallas along Inwood in front of mansions. Reminds me to get a Cruz sign - I’ve only seen one and I understand you have to buy those. They’re not given away free by the truckload like Beto signs,

Are Republicans going to re-elect the governor and uncheck Cruz or vote for Beta? I don’t think so.

Ummmm... or he’s repaying the favor. The senator campaigned for him in 2016.
Trump seems to repay loyalty with loyalty.
That’s a big deal to him.

Cruz is a miserable, not charismatic campaigner.

Yeah he is such a “miserable not charismatic campaigner” that he won to the tune of 551 delegates in the GOP primaries in 2016. Meanwhile, the “oh so charismatic” “super likable” Marco Rubio managed to win only 167 delegates.
Where do you come up with this nonsense anyways?
Ted Cruz will crush Beto O’Rourke come November. And you can take it to the bank.

In the large urban areas, O’Rourke is a heavy favorite.

This is true but Texas is big (not sure if you heard that) and elections are not carried just by one or two cities. We will be out to vote our junior (wish it was for President of Texas) senator back into office.

He’s fighting with great energy. He’s reaching out everywhere. He’s a sure conservative voice supporting Trump at every turn.

We need to talk him up every chance we get.

One year ago nobody thought a Democrat could possibly win Jeff Sessions’ seat in Alabama.

An aberration.. The GOPe probably spent more money attacking Roy Moore than even the Democrats did and even said they might not seat Roy Moore in the US Senate if he won.

It’s not “very” Republican. And more changes with redistricting over the years have made it increasingly blue.

But Trump didnt carry the district because that area is full of elitist establishment types. It’s George Bush’s home district if that gives you any indication. They were sticking it to Trump. That’s my opinion on that scenario.
But even so it will still probably go blue this time because since 2016 there have been more changes to demographics.

BETO signs are everywhere in Austin, of course. What's disturbing is to see them in Williamson County, which is just North of Austin and was always solid republican. Obviously the inmates are escaping North as Austin housing prices rise.

Cruz is anything but "personable" but everyone knows this election is about Trump, not the individual D or R candidates.

I never thought mass media brainwashing would work.

But it does. On idiots, for sure.

When a movie mocking Bible Prophecy came out, I figured (given my interests) that I might see it (there were 2 out at that time). I sat in the theater alone and watched pretty much the whole crowd laugh it up at each “comedy”.

Handing power back to the Democrats will be the death of this nation. IMHO

I never thought mass media brainwashing would work.

Most Americans are not politically informed. They're low-info voters.

That's what it is so important for conservatives to fight for our voices to be heard on the massive social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Not give up.

As long as the GOP and Cruz rest on their laurels about Beto ... then, yeah he has a chance to win.

Yep. I believe I lost a very good friend because I made a remark about Hillary.

I truly believe he watched nothing but the liberal media. So he only had their version of things. Very smart guy. But never wandered off the MSM reservation.

He sure has. And he is top shelf when it comes to matters of the Judiciary. I give him a lot of credit and sure hope Texas brings him back for another term. It may have been a tough year in 2016 but since then, he has totally supported the President and his agenda.

“No Cruz just alienated a lot of folks with his antics in 2016.”

If that is justification for letting a liberal Pseudo-Hispanic anti-Trump Democrat win Texas, then Texans have gone insane! Just who in the hell do they think will support Trump - Beto the Democrat, or Cruz?

At the rate with which illegals are flooding Texas and Toyota keeps relocating Californians there, it will be blue pretty soon.

Personally I think Cruz will win.. don’t get me wrong... those angry with Cruz’s behavior will likely come home on election day.. but the reality is he’s being hurt NOT because TX is going blue.. but because Cruz is paying the price for his 16 antics.
