Serena Williams came to blows with the umpire in the U.S. Open's Women's final as she accused him of 'stealing a point from her'.
Umpire Carlos Ramos issued a game penalty to the U.S star during her game against Japan's Naomi Osaka because the umpire accused her of getting coaching from the side lines.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner screamed at Ramos: 'Every time I play here, I have problems. I did not have coaching, I don't cheat. You need to make an announcement. I have a daughter and I stand for what's right. You owe me an apology.'
'For you to attack my character is wrong. You owe me an apology. You will never be on a court with me as long as you live. You are the liar. You owe me an apology. Say it. Say you're sorry.
'How dare you insinuate that I was cheating? You stole a point from me. You're a thief too. '
Moments later Williams crashed out of the final with Osaka winning 6-2, 6-4.

I expect to see a whole lotta memes using the phrase “I am Spartacus!”
It’s a beautiful thang!
I would like to see video of the coach giving her hand signals from the stands before passing final judgment.
Guess she doesn’t do math much...1 point wouldn’t have made a difference.
The coach already tweeted that he was indeed coaching signals to her, and that is is common at Slam events.
People wanted to see McEnroe throw a fit, it was part of the act. Nobody wants to see that from these women. Check your privilege, Serena.
A bunch of whiners. And it was interesting to watch the cheering for Williams when she would win a point or a game - it was almost angry. Contrasted with the almost somber reaction by Osaka’s family.
It almost looked to me like Osaka “threw” that game right after Williams was penalized a game. But I don’t know tennis at all. There were a LOT of points that didn’t look all that difficult to me but one or the other of them can’t get it over the net, or it goes way out of bounds.
Obviously the game is a lot more difficult that what my untrained eye can see. “That shot was right to you - how could you not get it over the net!!??”
Serena got slaughtered 6-2 in the first set... but was up 3-1 in the second, looking like she was about to bring it to a tie for the 3rd and final set... and that's when this started.
Naomi finished the match 5-1 from then on. It clearly took Serena out of the match entirely... indicating that her mental toughness is definitely not what it once was.
The woman announcer was saying how the men throw a tantrum on the first warning and sometimes the second penalty - but they do not to do it a third time and lose a game over it.
Imagine this......Serena invokes the I am a mother and I cant go home to my child thinking I cheated. HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I have watched tennis for many years, my daughter was a Division I high school four year varsity letter, STATE of Ohio, semifinalist. Her and her doubles partner, during play got a really bad call, my daughter yelled, cheese and rice.. the chair umpire took a point away, which cost her the match. Its the way it goes, follow the rules. Serena is now in her presser invoking the feminist card. She is a piece of shit.
Yep, sometimes silence is golden!
That’s right...IIRC John was the worse of the two.
I just don’t watch enough tennis to know if what the coach said is true but I am a believer in enforcing rules evenly and not arbitrarily whether in sports or anything else in life.
When is her/his transition complete?
I went over to ESPN to see the highlights.
OMG! What is Williams wearing?
And her build is closer to a football player than a tennis player
Pathetic ! Did you watch the post conference. Boy ???? did she play up victim hood from the hood.
Her poor sportsmanship ruined a well deserved win by Osaka. I guess when it’s all about you such things don’t matter.
boo hoo.
typical brit hyperbole...
I think she wanted to go with that...but Osaka had her beat on the race card. So, she went with her next victim answer.
