1 point wouldn’t have made a difference. Serena got slaughtered 6-2 in the first set... but was up 3-1 in the second, looking like she was about to bring it to a tie for the 3rd and final set... and that's when this started.
Naomi finished the match 5-1 from then on. It clearly took Serena out of the match entirely... indicating that her mental toughness is definitely not what it once was.
