The app claims to prevent malware and malicious files from infecting your Mac, and it offers the ability to remove adware that is already on your system. But according to Wardle, once the app has been downloaded, it asks for high-level access to your system files and begins a process of working around Apples normal sandboxing protections. Apple is known for having a strict vetting process for whats allowed in its App Store, and apps are typically separated from each other and the operating system. But according to Wardle, Adware Doctor uses some workarounds to gather a users browser history and a list of the users software. It stores that in a folder that periodically gets zipped up and sent to a server in China, Wardel found.
Wardle isnt alone in his findings. He was prompted to look into the app after a security researcher that goes by Privacy 1st posted a video that demonstrated Adware Doctors shady activity. And Motherboard verified the accuracy of Wardles report with two independent experts. Weve reached out to both Apple and Adware Doctors developers for comment but didnt receive an immediate reply.
Apples lack of response to early warnings on this issue is a bit out of character. The App Store is generally considered to be far safer than its Android counterpart, Google Play. Mistakes happen, but they should be fixed as quickly as possible.

PING!
Is this some sort of cover to explain HRC’s emails going to China...some 33,000?
It’s time to STOP educating China’s young people in our Universities... (and NO I do NOT mean Chinese/Americans - who are Americans)
Ping for later review.

If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Cute, but false.
I use Malwarebytes & Dr. Antivirus on both my iMac27 and MacBook Pro. Any known issues wit those?
Why wold Apple care. They gave the keys to their cloud in China to THE CHINESE GOVT.
Do not buy new Apple products. If you have to stay in their product line, buy used from a third party. Apple has become a disgrace of a company:
a/ they have completely deplatformed AlexJones while leaving Anti-American anti semites like Louis Farrakhan on iTunes.
b/ they took down 25,000 Chinese apps at the request of the communist Chinese govt.
c/ they gave the communist Chinese govt the keys to the Apple cloud in China, effectively giving the Chinese govt extra tools to spy on 200,000,000 Chinese.
Tim Cook of Apple is a traitor to freedom and to America. STARVE APPLE do not buy new Apple products until Cook is gone/policies have changed.

I have been an Apple Mac user for decades - I stay fairly current on trends and new software - yet I have never even heard of this app... nor have I noticed it in the app store...
For what purpose do you use those? Are you trying to prevent malware on your iMac and MacBook Pro, or protecting those who may receive files from you from malware?
Reasonable practices should prevent malware altogether on your Macs...
