American denim giant Levi Strauss & Co. announced Tuesday that it is launching a series of new initiatives to benefit groups working to prevent gun violence.

Levi Strauss’ CEO and President Chip Bergh wrote it Fortune on Tuesday that the company “simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work.”

“You may wonder why a company that doesn’t manufacture or sell guns is wading into this issue, but for us, it’s simple,” Bergh wrote. “Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of gun violence. It’s an issue that affects all of us — all generations and all walks of life.

Levi Strauss has been my blacklist for years because of this. This is nothing new for them. As the article says, they're "launching a series of new initiatives".

I am against gun violence as well. I think pretty much everyone is against gun violence. The disagreement is with how one goes about stopping gun violence.

Banning the instrument is not how it will happen. There will always be violent people. Their heart needs to change and there is only one way to do this.

Levi Strauss has been anti-gun for a long time. Since the Clinton years, IIRC, though they’ve been quiet about it for the past decade or so.

They’ve been a non-US producer of jeans for what....25 years now?

I have a Levi pair I bought from two years ago...started deteriorating badly after maybe twenty washes. I like the fit and will admit the style was ok. But I can pretty much trash them in another six months. I can remember in the 1980s...having jeans lasting a full decade.

My guess is that they make overpriced garbage so they want to attract brain dead customers.

Levi’s joins the list of companies that I will boycott for life. Tonight I’ll cut the Levi’s labels off the few jeans I have from them, and I will not be buying more. I will, however, wear the label-free jeans I own until they are worn out.

I hope Levi’s joins other politicized brands on the trash heap of history.

If you must, find used vintage Levis. They are built 1000% better than the paper thin ones they produce today

Check out this archived webpage from November, 1999.

And THAT is why I've been wearing Wrangler or Lee jeans for two decades.

I quit buying over-priced Levi’s years ago, Wrangler and Lee’s are a hell of a lot cheaper and just as good.

Hands, 2 ft section of fence post list is endless, cars seem to be the new fashion in mass killings.

I am the Mother of a Murdered Child, killed with a 2 ft section of fence post so some Sociopath could get his jollies to see what it felt like to kill. Afterwards he dragged his buddies to the scene, one of them called the Police. He made threats in jail to kill any one who snitched on him. He ran from the Scene, which was less than a block from our house into the woods where police caught him. Crap A$$ Ag RINO plea bargained a M1 to a M2, 20 yrs, 10 months later I was fighting the first of 6 parole hearings. I eked out 10.5 yrs of the 20 yrs, Good Behavior time ate the rest, not that he behaved even in prison.

People simply cannot voice a conservative opinion in the boardroom...
SJW, “Children are dying in our schools every day!”
Every head nods in agreement lest they lose their comfy corporate life.
