American denim giant Levi Strauss & Co. announced Tuesday that it is launching a series of new initiatives to benefit groups working to prevent gun violence.
Levi Strauss CEO and President Chip Bergh wrote it Fortune on Tuesday that the company simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work.
You may wonder why a company that doesnt manufacture or sell guns is wading into this issue, but for us, its simple, Bergh wrote. Americans shouldnt have to live in fear of gun violence. Its an issue that affects all of us all generations and all walks of life.

I USED to be a Levi wearing guy. No longer. Here I come Wrangler.
So, I guess what few, if any Levis that I have left need to be donated? They left the US and are manufacturing them overseas anyway. Good riddance to an iconic American brand.
Levi’s are all made offshore now and are pretty much the same defective, badly sized crap as cheaper jeans.
Aren’t Levis made in China, now days?
If it is this big an issue, why not be against ALL violence.
You can die from a knife, hammer, brick, or, a car just as quick as a gun.
I’ve always been a Wrangler guy, so this is easy for me.
What a bunch of nonsense, more feel good corporate gesture politics that likely does very little or nothing towards real solutions concerning the criminal and tragic misuse of firearms.
I guess i won’t wear Levis on my next gun rampage..?
Following NIKE down the Rabbit Hole?
Guns are not violent, Levi, people are violent.
Do not attempt to confuse the issue, Levis, by assigning human characteristics to inanimate objects.
Anywho, I wear cargo pants.
What great timing! I was about to head out for some new jeans. Now I know what NOT to buy.
Wranglers and Carhartt work for me.
Welp, guess I’m not buying any more Levi’s jeans...
Been wearing Levis forever - back to toughskins for me.
Almost all of these name brand trademarks have all been sold to the highest bidder to help sell cheaply made Chinese crap. Everything that the owners of these trademarks do that creates controversy is just meant to get free publicity.
They should work with the NRA
The NRA wants to have only properly trained gun owners and want proactive policing to prevent crime.
Will Levi Strauss team up with the NRA?
Going to be fun to watch them lose market share as me and millions of others buy Wranglers.
Well——————— Bye
I'm not sure they are made in Red China but they are made offshore.
Ten years ago, or longer, I read Levi no longer made any jeans in the U.S. Perhaps someone that cares about Levis can tell us current status.
I loved Levi jeans but stopped buying them the day they announced they were casting their tent toward Sodom. That was probably 20 years ago.
