Here’s something that just popped in to say “Howdy, Hi!” [/southpark]:

Why can’t I get a browser that just opens and waits for me to input a URL? Why MUST I have a “homepage” to jump from?

Alternately, can I change my homepage to “null” and still have the browser work; will it default to some pre-assigned “home”? Why MUST I have a homepage to access the webz? I’ll have to try that when I get home.

The homepage I use on my text-only browser is a local html file.

You can do the same thing on any browser. Use "file://" as the prefix, not "http://" or "https://"

Go to the settings of just about any browser; you can set it to start with any page, with your last set of tabs, or with nothing at all.

You can use Opera. That is what I use. It opens to a page that has links that you set. Mine has Qmaps, 8 Chan, Free Republic, Drudge, Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, Etc. links when it opens, but it doesn't open any page unless I click on it

It is called speed dial. Also Opera circumvents a lot of the tracking that other browsers do to you. I also use Duck Duck Go for my search engine. I almost never use Google.

I'm still not home free because I use Gmail, But I have an email account with disrroot.org for sensitive stuff, plus I use PIA VPN. I can couple all of that with Tor browser if I really want to go incognito.

I sincerely believe that with the disroot email, Tor browser and PIA VPN, I can't be found by less than the NSA.

Make "about:blank" your home page, without the quotes. It works on most browsers.
