Do you love KFC? Like, do you really, really love KFC? Well, if you do and you also happen to be heavily pregnant, the fried chicken chain has quite the offer for you. To celebrate the 128th birthday of its founder, Colonel Harland David Sanders, KFC is trying to bring back his old-timey name and they want you to name your progeny after him.
According to a press release, KFC wants to re-popularize the name Harland (which was only the 3,257th most popular baby name of 2017) and is launching a contest for soon-to-be parents. The first baby boy or girl to be born on the Colonels birthday September 9, 2018, and named Harland will win an $11,000 college scholarship so one day maybe they can start their own fast food restaurant. Why $11,000? Its an ode to the restaurants famous 11 herbs and spices, of course.

I think Harland is a pretty cool name money withstanding.
I’m gonna have a tough time convincing the Mrs to have #5. She was practically fit to be tied getting through the early years with #4. And #3.
The offer is way to low.
If the baby changes his/her mind and “identifies” as the other sex, do you have to give the money back?
Does it count if I name a Pooh bear, “Edward Sanders.”
“Edward... born under the name, ‘Sanders,’ which hung over his doorway” — A.A. Milne.
Ping.
I would not name anyone Harlan after watching the FX series Justified. Maybe Raylan.
Hope they don’t change name to Popeye’s.
My only point is racism is a pretty heavy allegation to be throwing around with no proof. Im not saying he had the majesty of Zeus; he was a real person. Just that his cartoonish portrayal in KFCs recent ad campaigns is disrespectful and out of keeping with his rightful place in the history of American business history. You wouldnt see McDonalds mocking Ray Kroc like KFC does Sanders
“What’s the matter Colonel Sanders, chicken?”
Dark Helmet, Spaceballs
Beat me to it!
“Oh, give me that you petty excuse for an officer!!”
;^)
No, its Reba . . . or is it Jason this week?
LOL. That was a great line. :D
Chickens fear them.
[I swear to God, I thought chickens could fly]
