A big swarm of bees has gathered on top of a hot dog stand in Times Square this afternoon. Or as real estate agents might put it, the bees have signed a lease on a luxury one umbrella studio with great views of the artisanal Walgreens.

The NYPD have roped off part of 43rd Street near the scene, and are now in the process of literally vacuuming up the bees, who are assembled en masse on the Sabrett-emblazoned umbrella.

Thats worth a couple of hundred bucks to a bee keeper. Thats a big swarm.
The only living creatures I’ve ever encountered in Times Square are pigeons,flies and rats.

If they are honey bees, its suicide to swarm this time of year. They will never produce enough to get through the winter.
I am guessing its not a real swarm. My other guess is they are not honey bees. Most city people would not know the difference.
