John Goodman did not go into detail but confirmed to The Sunday Times Roseanne Barrs character will be killed off in the upcoming The Conners spinoff.
When talking about the new iteration of the series and his character Dan, the drywall contractor who played Roseannes husband in the original series and revival, told the publication Its an unknown. I guess hell be mopey and sad because his wifes dead.
ABC has not confirmed how Barr would be written off the show, which the network abruptly canceled after Barrs racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former senior adviser to Barack Obama. ABC described Barrs comment as abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values and axed the series as it was going into production on its second season.
Barr has no financial or creative involvement in the new series after reaching a settlement with series producer Tom Werner. ABC has described Barrs exit only as a sudden turn of events. On the new show, after a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. grapple with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.
The Conners will feature the rest of the Roseanne revival cast. Along with Goodman as Dan, Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.) will reprise their Conner characters.
Roseanne Barr controls the rights to the show. So kill off the Roseanne character? She should tell them all to go straight to hell.
Mighty Mac is the grim reaper.

Same people smug about this are whining about Gunn. Wah! It was just words!
“....Walt wouldnt recognize the place.”
Absolutely!
Without Roseanne the show is DOA.
Roughly as sudden as the show's upcoming cancellation.
What I can't wait for will be President Trump's and Roseanne Barr's tweets of schadenfreude and vindication after the show completely tanks.
It will last five or six episodes. It will turn into a Trump Hate Fest.
Make it a cheap funeral. Nobody’s going to attend anyway.
Was certain they would kill off Roseanne...at the end of the very last episode of the new Roseanne, she is preparing to have knee surgery the next day, and the family is around her while she pigs out on her favorite foods before the deadline to stop eating.
No prizes for guessing what the first episode of The Conners will be: Roseanne will have had a heart attack or something during the surgery and have died on the table...
She’s going to be thrashed to death by a gorilla.
DOA.
LOL!
Oooh I like that idea. That would have been much better than what they’re doing.

Nothing says comedy gold like a dead spouse. (WTF are these TV execs thinking?)
Tim Allen should add her as the crazy aunt on the show he has starting on Fox. Show will go straight to the moon.
Here is the plot... Roseanne is shot by a while male who was full of toxic masculinity, a card carrying NRA member and who was active in the Trump campaign. The killer drove a large pickup with a gun rack and Confederate flag in the back window, was a fan of NACAR and liked hunting. He was never seen without his MAGA hat. Roseanne was cut down by an AR-15 in a hail of fully automatic bullets from an extra capacity clip. The gun had been purchased at a gun show and had many illegal extra lethal components including a silencer, exploding dum dum bullets, a folding stock, black plastic grips, a tripod and a bump stock giving it the ability to shoot over 2000 rounds a minute. Certainly that would meet Hollywoods ideal.
Kill off Rosanne? Well, thats gratitude for ya!
