Man bites off fellow golfer's finger at Massachusetts golf club

A potentially par-inspired spar erupted in Massachusetts Friday, leading one golfer to bite the finger off of another.
A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with mayhem after taking matters into his own mouth – er, hands – at the Southers Marsh Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass., WCVB reports.
He was taken to jail, while his victim – whose thumb was reportedly chomped off to the knuckle – paid a visit to the hospital.
Dispatcher audio obtained by WCVB reports that “two foursomes got into an altercation and there’s been a finger that’s been bitten off.”
The audio also said the victim was lying down between a cluster of golf carts near the club’s main entrance road.
The victim’s identity and condition have yet to be released.
In Massachusetts, a mayhem charge means acting to purposely maim or disfigure another person. It comes with a potential sentence of up to 20 years in state prison, a fine of up to $1,000 and up to two and a half years of jail time.
