I believe I heard on Fox News this evening that it costs $25,000 to issue ONE security clearance. That’s one heck of a lot of money!!

“should be required to submit a statement listing specific reasons why they think they should have clearances.”

They get lucrative jobs in the private sector because they have security clearance.

Without it they willprobably lose their jobs.

Clearance investigations cost money. The government is willing to do that for its employees because it benefits the government.

As for contractors who need clearance, maybe they should bill the individual or their employer for the cost of the investigations.

How interesting... aren’t they just the clubby little gaggle here. These a-holes think they’re entitled to clearances for life.

Petraeus, of all people, should know better than to pile on here.

I had “the panel” on while fixing dinner tonight, and I could hear them in the kitchen.

They were all in agreement it seemed, that this was “vindictive” and Trump was behaving like a child...

But at the same time they agreed that maybe no one should have a clearance after they leave office.

OK, fine... give them what they want...

All clearances expire when you leave office. Period.

Trump should make that the rule.

Now, if you hang on, or we need you, we can give you a temporary clearance (like they do so many other contractors).

I always feel like Trump baits the media into a trap. I think this is EXACTLY what he wanted, to yank ALL the clearances, and now the media is pushing that “it should be the rule... not pick and choose”.

Awesome. I think they once again took the bait.

Am I missing something here?

“I think we’ve identified the problem. Or, to be more exact, the problem has identified themselves for us.”

BINGO

Ever since Dulles ran the CIA.

“The President should get the list and then cancel the clearances of everyone on it.”

Bugger canceling clearances. Access to any information is based on compartmentalized “Need to Know”. Place the lot on “No Access” status. Follow-on action would be denial clearance renewal when it expires. Let’m stay current via Wapo Daily and NYT.
Hoopla surrounding clearances appears a bit ludicrous as past presidents and who knows else receive regular intel briefings and updates tailored to their need. And who among them do you suppose doesn’t pass on second-hand information?

Anyone who thinks Brennan should keep a security clearance has a serious judgement problem.

None of those people have been as outspoken as Brennan. Brennan is far more outspoken than any CIA person I can remember.

No, once they are gone, no clearances at all.

Time to stop making the private sector so lucrative for these money chasers.

...”So, when all these clowns get out and get recruited by the various defense contractors and other contracting companies, they can’t parlay those clearances into cash money and then run around bashing the President with information they don’t need to know.”...

I was shocked to learn that these people are able to keep their security clearance after leaving government. Why are government rules SO different than those of private companies. For example, I had a neighbor who worked for a stock broker, but left the job and took his clients with him, which was against the document he had signed when he began work there. He was sued by the company for breaking an important rule. It was said about the same time that this man was also cheating on his wife, so, when someone cheats one way, he/she seems to be willing to cheat wherever it is convenient. How can our nation have any security when a political party hack leaves government work and takes one of the biggest money making perks with him? I wonder if folks out here are becoming more and more distressed at the level of dishonesty played out before our very eyes day after day after day, through every one of our major institutions. It seems the left has won the cultural battle. Will they win the war?

“In a statement, ex-CIA bosses appointed by Republican and Democratic presidents — including Robert Gates, George Tenet, Porter Goss, Leon Panetta and David Petraeus — denounced Trump’s decision to strip Brennan of his security clearance.”

These drips are all merely cameo actors in the play known as the swamp. Republicrats..all on same team.

Let these ex -CIA bosses in on a little secret:

Brennan was using his security clearance to feed or compose false information to entrap PDJT into an impeachment, using fabricated evidence. That’s sedition.Remember this from a man who had no problem making the CIA spy domestically( a crime)om The Senate House Intelligence Committee. Brennan denied that and later was forced too Omit is. Brennan would make a good director of the totalitarian Stasi, he is hardly an American in any way whatsoever.

Let the whole lot sail in their own defined ship of fools. And watch the irrelevant totalitarian ba$tards sink.

The problem has identified themselves for us

Yeah. Who knew the Deep State was so self-righteous? This statement is an act of war against the Executive Branch. President Trump has not just a right to revoke all of those security clearances, he has an obligation!
