Just thought it would be good info to show how to turn off the tracking device on Google, Amazon and Facebook.

Well I don’t have any of them on my phone, took them all off a long time ago.

The legislation that required every future cell phone to have GPS tracking did not require an on/off switch.
I do not think it *can* be turned off in software. Maybe the airplane mode can turn it off, but maybe not.

I can echo praise for DuckDuckGo. I sometimes use Google for their maps.
There are Faraday cages available for your cell phone and car key fob, two tracking devices.
You can also make your own cage from aluminum foil or certain types of mylar. Test by inserting your phone and then calling your number. If the phone doesn't ring it isn't being tracked.

I almost got a flip phone.. Wish I had.. but in a moment of weakness I got a Google phone.. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I noticed my Verizon bill now lists the percentage of time I spend on web/apps, social and chat. Is that for my benefit or theirs?! It really ticks me off.

I use DuckDuckGo and startpage I use DuckDuckGo and like it.
I used to use StartPage, but by experience found out it has a fierce left-wing bias. I once was looking for an article that I knew was on Fox News, and put fox in the search query. But Startpage would not return any Fox news pages in the search results, just left-wing sites.

I can’t get anywhere with DuckDuckGo searches. They’ll pull up long lists of info from years ago but nothing that happened last week.

Good for them...they get to see me drive four miles on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, to the dialysis clinic, and the rest of the time stay at home.
