Once the inevitable collapse of Citgo happens, the ruling drug cartel in Venezuela will inevitably enter its final phase. Today, Venezuela is unable to refine oil into gasoline, so in turn it is purchased from Citgo and all but given away for domestic consumption. This has given rise to a vast network of gasoline smuggling, often by the military itself, which steals the gasoline in transit then sells it in other nations for a huge profit while remaining well under the market price. Gasoline is so cheap in Venezuela, one can purchase around 875,000 gallons of 87 octane for $1.

I have not visited a Citgo in over 10 years.
I can’t remember the last time I went to a Citgo. But for 875,000 gallons of gas for a dollar, I could be tempted.
Likewise, and probably for the same reasons. And I used to have one that was reasonably convenient.
Contango.
I think that you're supposed to send your dollar to Joe Kennedy. As to when you'll actually get your gas, that's up to Joe's boss Nicolás Maduro.
Eh. Lemme know when it gets to a million gallons for a buck.
Okay, this tank holds 9,000 gallons:
You'd need about a hundred of them to haul your gas down the highway.
A typical gas station could easily take one of them off your hands for, say, $2/gallon? It'd be a bargain for him. And you'd net about $17,000 per truck... $1.7 million for your trouble. Wow, tempting.
I wonder how long it'd take for the FBI to track you down and shoot you dead?
Step 1:
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.― (Margaret Thatcher)... and you must take ownership of all businesses to survive.
Step 2:
Those nationalized companies become owned by your foreign creditors once the businesses can no longer deliver money to pay the governments bills.
Step 3:
Your 'government' is no longer...

A 2 liter coke is 201,256 Bolívar Fuertes
A dozen eggs can cost $150.76 on the black market
That’s 31,222,396 Bolívar Fuertes.
In the U.S., the average price of 12 eggs is just $1.49.
Dang - my car requires at least 91 Octane.....but my wife’s car runs well on the 87.......
I went to college with the son of the owner of the Coca-Cola bottling franchise in Venezuela. My buddy’s name is Thomas Brombin. We kind of lost track of each other in mid to late 1980’s.
I seriously doubt the family still has ownership of the franchise as he was pretty conservative.
Only God gives freedom, only man takes it away.
I’m not buying this story. Even with Venezuela in the toilet it strikes me as preposterous.
The Venz are backward dated...
“Gasoline is so cheap in Venezuela, one can purchase around 875,000 gallons of 87 octane for $1. “
Now if I drove a tanker truck I might fill up there.
Sister and Homosexual Brother fight over who brings Coke to Hunky Pool Boy, Mother Wins."
I know everyone has their own limit, and that was mine!
I always get confused but backwardation means spot is more expensive than forwards. No?
