9.) Be happy to see him. Free him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him. Listen to him.

10.) You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first — remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

11.) Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.

12.) Your goal: Try to make sure your home is a place of peace, order and tranquility where you husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

13.) Don’t greet him with complaints and problems.

14.) Don’t complain if he’s late home for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through that day.

15.) Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

16.) Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

17.) Don’t ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment of integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

18.) A good wife always knows her place.

I’m a simple sort of woman-and I’ve been told I’m low maintenance by both hubbys and more recently my macho guy. It seems a lot of men like that. I do NOT want a wuss or metrosexual-never have-I only like real, macho men who like real strong women. I don’t want-and certainly don’t expect my man to do anything for me that I would not do for him-to do otherwise is unfair. Aside from the obvious division of chores based on who is more proficient at what task, total honesty, sharing and respect-supporting, caring for, protecting and being there for one another is as good as it gets in my opinion-and each person needs their space to do their own things because we are all individuals-it also keeps the relationship happy and fresh as well as reinforcing/building trust. If I needed to write an entire article on my wants/needs/expectations of a partner, then I would give back my credentials as a case manager, because I wasted my education and experience-not to mention that it would be narcissistic and self absorbed to have a list that long...

A female coworker introduced a new female hire to our team.

She looked at me and said "Don't make eye contact with him, just slowly back away".

(I had recently been shot in the back porch with a tranquilizer dart and relocated from another floor.)

“Don’t complain if he’s late home for dinner or even if he stays out all night-save it for right before you throw his stuff-and him out the f’ing door-in front of the neighbors- and then lock it.”

Yes, in the words of the immortal Frank Zappa:

But later that night
Padlock on my door
Clothes out on the street
Don't want my love no more

And I cried
I cried
Oh, I cried
I cried my heart out
Cried my heart out
Later that night

Don't go baby
Don't put me out on the street
You threw my best sharkskin suit out on the lawn
Right on top of some dog waste...

I love Frank Zappa’s tunes-so did my hubby-I read someplace that he was a Reagan guy and once lived next door to senator Goldwater...

All the guys who have a sex doll and are longing for a mail order bride from Thailand are showing up now, lol!

And you say that like it's a bad thing.

Wait a minute, I think I’m confused here. I thought the original Stepford Wives was a romantic comedy with a happy ending.

Oh I am sure men would like wives to follow this. Women also have their unrealistic wants of how their husbands should act.

You always push back at the guys who b*tch and moan about American women. Keep up the good work.

As they say, it’s a dirty job but somebody’s got to do it.

Why does somebody got to do it?

Why is guys expressing what makes them happy treated as a problem?

Perhaps it is the way they profess themselves that’s the problem. It’s lessened here on FR lately - very few women-hating threads. Instead, most of the Bruce J. Friedman Lonely Guys have graduated to the Q threads.

Saw Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention on Mother’s Day at the Philadelphia Academy of Music in 1974 or thereabouts. He was a complete original. Died too young.

Never got the chance to see him in concert-I like the humor in his tunes. He lost his life to prostate cancer-indeed too young.
