...So this post is an update with my new rankings of the worlds 10 best first class products. It goes without saying that this is entirely subjective, so its perfectly reasonable if others disagree with me.
Let me also emphasize that Ive actually flown every single first class product I rank (and paid for the ticket, either in cash or miles), and have flown almost every first class product in the world (the only airline I havent flown in first class is Kuwait Airways). So Im not going off any marketing bullets with these rankings, but rather my firsthand experiences. If youd like to see more of my trip reports, check out the trip report index.
With that out of the way, here are what I consider to be the 10 best first class products, starting with the best:
1. Emirates First Class 777-300ER
2. Air France First Class 777-300ER
3. Garuda Indonesia First Class 777-300ER
4. Singapore Suites A380
5. Etihad First Class A380
6. Cathay Pacific First Class 777-300ER
7. Japan Airlines First Class 777-300ER
8. Lufthansa First Class A380 Or 747-8
9. Swiss First Class 777-300ER
10. All Nippon Airways First Class 777-300ER
I’ve had fun with your posting and I hope you don’t take offense.
You’re right. It’s a perfect match.
Not even in the ballpark. At the end of the article:
For anyone curious, I think I know what Id rank as the next six first class products (11-16), roughly in order Qatar, Oman, Qantas, Korean, Thai, and Asiana.
Given that we're speaking of a ticket that runs in excess of $10,000 one way, I'm guessing they'll accommodate you.
:-)
We flew first class from DFW to Portland in March. AA outbound. Alaska in bound. Both were good but I wouldn’t pay for it on my nickel. I just get the exit row seats ( I’m 6’4”).
Not at all.
International first class is an entirely different breed of animal than domestic. I could never afford it if I paid cash.
How about a listing of best Economy Class Airlines since that’s where most of us fly. To and from Europe as well as within Europe, my vote goes to Norwegian airlines.
Notice who makes the aircraft of the best rated. Coincidence?
Now if we could only have a world-class airline.
US carriers and airports are a joke.
When they fly nonstop international routes that compete directly with the Asians and Europeans, they are slightly better than their domestic routes - but not a lot.
Done!

Great video.
What that a commercial for something? /S
I flew Norwegian airlines coach last month. It was on a 787 and it was amazing, so the airplane DOES matter. I would not enjoy first class in a 747.
That e*Trade commercial is hilarious! Never saw that before.
What was their nickname, the flying hookers?
ML/NJ
I didn’t know Garuda was that good
The past 5 or 6 times I have flown:
1. I am one of very few white people on the plane.
2. I honestly can't even imagine how the people have scraped together the $300-$400 to buy the ticket.
The flight attendants? Oh man, gone are the days of the glamorous stewardess. I flew last Friday and it was an overweight and disheveled 40 something guy and a very masculine older woman without a stitch of make-up.
I remember the first time I flew as a kid. I flew from NY to Florida to visit an aunt. My parents took me to Flah's (remember that store?) and bought me a new dress to wear for the flight. Those days are long gone.
I flew Aeroflot two summers ago to the CR and THAT put our best airline to shame. The Moscow airport was fabulous. What's the tell you? And the flight attendants didn't look like gym teachers that just rolled out of bed.
