...So this post is an update with my new rankings of the worlds 10 best first class products. It goes without saying that this is entirely subjective, so its perfectly reasonable if others disagree with me.
Let me also emphasize that Ive actually flown every single first class product I rank (and paid for the ticket, either in cash or miles), and have flown almost every first class product in the world (the only airline I havent flown in first class is Kuwait Airways). So Im not going off any marketing bullets with these rankings, but rather my firsthand experiences. If youd like to see more of my trip reports, check out the trip report index.
With that out of the way, here are what I consider to be the 10 best first class products, starting with the best:
1. Emirates First Class 777-300ER
2. Air France First Class 777-300ER
3. Garuda Indonesia First Class 777-300ER
4. Singapore Suites A380
5. Etihad First Class A380
6. Cathay Pacific First Class 777-300ER
7. Japan Airlines First Class 777-300ER
8. Lufthansa First Class A380 Or 747-8
9. Swiss First Class 777-300ER
10. All Nippon Airways First Class 777-300ER
Aeroflot where they still hire and fire based on looks.
But I believe they only go up to business class.

I’d love to fly Emirates first class or one of it’s sister airlines with my wife before we die. I marvel at the pictures I see of it. Compared to the reality of the sardine can experience on American carriers it seems like another world.
Not a single US carrier.....
Im flying Cathay Pacific first class in January. Really looking forward to it.
I’m flying cattle to St. Louis in a couple of weeks. Been a few years since last I flew but I’m really looking forward to the champagne and the caviar. Well, OK, I’m hoping if the stews have a windup like Juan Marichal I’ll be able to catch a sack of mustard pretzels in my teeth...
I saw a first class seat once when the flight attendant got a little sloppy with screening curtain.
American carriers where a surly battleaxe threatens even paying 1st class passengers...
I’ve just taken my first flight in 5 years recently, so I’ve been obsessed with airport documentaries and stuff about 1st class flying.
Just amazing the options that are out there if you have the cash. Accommodations like Emirates would get me to travel a lot more, although I would still prefer domestic carriers and I can only deal with domestic destinations.
But that type of comfort on a cross-country flight? Oh yeah!
Kinda like those hospital curtains that go around the bed so the nurses can insert a catheter in semi-privacy.
Jet Blues, Spirit, US Air did not make the cut.
Have you seen this commercial? Its a perfect match to what you just said!

I think this means you can eat off the floors (in a German way) and not injest a single bacterial organism.
That bed and seat belt on the Swiss Air reminds me of my last visit to the cath lab.
My sister and her kids have flown them a few times and speak very highly of them.
Can you substitute a hamburger instead of the tofu without an upcharge?
If ain’t Boeing, I ain’t going.
(But I do like Douglas planes, too).
