KFC chooses 'Seinfeld' star Jason Alexander as newest 'Colonel Sanders'
fox news ^

“As the son of two working parents, there were plenty of dinnertimes when a bucket of chicken and all the fixins saved the day,” Alexander said in a press release. “It’s been fun to combine my personal love for KFC with my sitcom experience into a new take on the role of Colonel Sanders.”

Along with the news, KFC also debuted two of its newest sitcom-themed commercial campaigns starring Alexander, during which he seemingly solves a variety of household problems with buckets of chicken.

In a second 15-second ad, Alexander's "Colonel" comes to the aid of a family in need of a quick, chicken-based meal.

“Did someone say KFC has four ways to feed a family of four for only $20 bucks?” asks Alexander’s “Colonel” — with no discernible accent whatsoever — while carrying a comically large tray of chicken into the family’s home.

Are they also going to change their name to KFP? I hear the fried pancakes are great.

Thanks for queering up the memory of the Colonel
I agree - they are mocking the man who founded a chicken empire by beclowning him. He was no pussycat from what I've read, but more of a hardass businessman.

There is man at my church a dead ringer look-a- like to Col Sanders. Dressing in white suits too. When he’s called upon to go up and read a passage of Scripture it’s all I can do to hold off laughing.

My niece couldn’t pronounce “Kentucky” when she was little. So we would go to “Kucky Fried Chicken”. In retrospect, the kid was prescient!

Notice that the last few “Colonel” ads didn’t show the face. Seems to me Reba bombed.

To be honest, I actually liked Norm MacDonald as the Colonel. But maybe that’s just me.

I sat behind the film director Stanley Donen and his girlfriend, Elaine May, and they jumped up out of their seats during curtain call. She took many ovations. Neither Donen nor May grew up at a time when anyone in NYC gave standing O’s. That’s how good she was.
