A female football team has called time on followers referring to them as ladies, deeming it offensive and suggestive that women belong in the kitchen.
For more than 30 years Hackney Women's Football Club has welcomed women who love playing the Beautiful Game.
But senior members of the team have now warned people to stop calling them a 'ladies' side because it carries the connotation that they should 'be in the kitchen and not on the pitch.'
Club player and Treasurer, Kristina Maddocks, ignited the debate when she said she told people off for referring to them as 'ladies.'
She said the term made many members feel uncomfortable and that the word 'women' was far more empowering.

I thought this was originally about real football. I thought, these are pretty tough women if they don’t want to even be associated with the female gender. Then I saw they meant soccer.
Then I thought of something else they could be called besides “ladies”.

Calling a woman a “lady” helps to civilize society. It protects the physically weaker gender by giving them a certain status.
The PC crowd seems determined to eliminate all these traditional safeguards. Then they will be oh-so-surprised when society deteriorates.

The Boxer enriched themselves off the back of the Military by way of her husbands dealings and her ‘inside knowledge’.
The Military (at least the Navy) had us calling OFFICERS Mister (except for CO, he was ‘always’ Captain) and you would use his rank when introducing him and a Female O was called Ma’am.
Boxer is such an idiot that in mid 90s I had a call to DC Democrat National HQ for a 1PM pickup to Philadelphia and she happened to be there. Her ‘shortness’ was running around like a bantam rooster and she came up to me and (sortof) snarled “what do you want” I told her and she spotted my hat (USS Terrell County (LST-1157) and asked if I was that proud of my home town.
I (not so quietly) reminded her that she was supposedly a friend of the Military etc and funny she didn’t recognize a ships name...
When told it wouldn’t be ready until 215 or so I told them I was charging them waiting time AND if they didn’t put R Limbaugh on the radio I was leaving.
I could tell she wanted to ‘get in my crap’ but an aid reminded her they may not get a replacement for me if I left...she grimaced and left the room.
Oh, they did NOT put R Limbaugh on the air.
I don’t think they called in on me - at least I don’t remember hearing about it...NOT that it would have mattered.
I did have to be careful though as I believe it was a FEDEX pickup ‘farmed’ out to another Company and it worked its way down to me...<:

Another word trap. They criminalize normal speech without telling us. What was ok yesterday is turned into bad today, and we are trashed for saying what was ok yesterday.
Especially with the pronoun thing.
