DEM GOVERNORS: WE'LL PULL OUT FROM TITLE X — Three Democrat-led states are threatening to pull out of the federal family planning program if the Trump administration moves forward with its proposal to prohibit abortion referrals and make other changes that would exclude abortion providers from participating.
— Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee, Hawaii Gov. David Ige and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said in separate statements that if the legal battle to stop the administration's Title X changes fails, they would not be able to participate in the “unethical” Title X program.
“We would be left with no choice but to refuse to participate in an unethical Title X program," Inslee said in a statement Monday. “Hawai‘i will not accept federal funds for these programs if the proposed rules are implemented,” Ige said. “It would leave me no choice but to act in the best interests of the citizens of Oregon and our state law, and withdraw our state’s participation from an unethical, ineffective Title X program that reduces access to essential preventive health services,” Brown said.

Onoz, liberals scaling down feral involvement in states? Whatever will we do? I say don’t let them do it, unless they agree to repeal the whole thing, then the gains in decentralization are locked in.
While they’re at it, why don’t they pull out of Title IX too!
Another tale of the hypocrite Democrats rediscrovering states rights, not on any pure principled idea in favor of states rights generally, but just to avoid federal policies they oppose.
And when the shoe was on the other foot, and conservative states were looking at “opting out” of some federal policy, oh the hue and cry that came from the hypocrite Dims.
If you commit an abortion, you’re not planning a family, you’re killing a member.

I’m always amazed at how much Oregon news I learn from other outlets outside of Oregon.

Announce that Title IX enforcement will now focus on colleges discriminating against straight, white, men.
See how long it takes for them to declare they’re pulling out of accepting federal money.

Hey! Why not just abolish Title X entirely? Why is Fedzilla paying anybody for ANY form of “family planning? Where’s that in the Constitution?
Oregon Gov. Brown may be vulnerable in this years election. Her Republican challenger is showing surprisingly strong polling. A weak lefty lesbian who is rarely heard from in the state may be to much even for Portlandia.
I’m with you, what’s the downside!
