DEM GOVERNORS: WE'LL PULL OUT FROM TITLE X — Three Democrat-led states are threatening to pull out of the federal family planning program if the Trump administration moves forward with its proposal to prohibit abortion referrals and make other changes that would exclude abortion providers from participating.
— Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee, Hawaii Gov. David Ige and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said in separate statements that if the legal battle to stop the administration's Title X changes fails, they would not be able to participate in the “unethical” Title X program.
“We would be left with no choice but to refuse to participate in an unethical Title X program," Inslee said in a statement Monday. “Hawai‘i will not accept federal funds for these programs if the proposed rules are implemented,” Ige said. “It would leave me no choice but to act in the best interests of the citizens of Oregon and our state law, and withdraw our state’s participation from an unethical, ineffective Title X program that reduces access to essential preventive health services,” Brown said.

They are threatening not to take Federal money, if they aren’t allowed to use it for abortion? What am I missing here? I want it to be as expensive and painful for those states as I can.

Then my state can pull out of all kinds of other Fed.gov regulations and rules.
I’m okay with that approach. However, the Dems will never wean themselves off the money. They will just go to the courts as long as they can. Trump needs 6 1/2 more years.

It needs to be stronger than this, because money is fungible. It needs to also be “Don’t reapportion state money toward Title X matters then come looking for other Federal money because the state budget fell short, because you’re not getting anything extra. If your constituents are true believers in the ‘right to abortion,’ try taxing them for the difference and see how strongly they really believe in it.”
