I saw my first movie in several years. Death of a Nation by Dinesh D'Souza. It was an advance showing at a local theater. The movie was outstanding, entertaining and well documented as would be expected from D'Souza. I'm sure there will be a lot of Progressive/Democrat heads exploding when the film is in general release. Like many other conservative films you may have to search to find it or as a last resort buy a copy of the DVD if not show locally.
thanks for the report, we’ll look for it
No worries. Usually someone uploads the torrent but I’d rather give the money to Dinesh.
Saw this last night.
Someone I know is dismayed by the jacket copy of Dinesh’s book based on the film talking about D’Souza’s revisionist history.
No no no. He decries the Dems’ revisionist history throughout the film. I hope this person is wrong. I’ll have to check out the book in the bookstore tomorrow.
Adam Bellow’s imprint at St. Martin’s. I doubt that they would let such an error happen.
Although the film does talk about the Voting Rights Act of 1964. Whoops. British proofreader?
Opens Thursday here, thanks for the heads up.
The last movie I saw in a theater was Henry V with Kenneth Branaugh. Don’t remember the year.
This one I want to see.
And an observation, who goes without years watching a movie? Seriously. Okay, I have 10-year old twin boys. But even before that, I watched movies and everyone I know does. Not many, but we do watch. To not do so, what is alternative, hermit kingdom? :)
I don’t do it, even to work by people I detest. Just not my thing. I know I am not with the times on this though, because everyone seems to do it.
Like you, I do make a point of paying to see new movies occasionally when I am compelled to support a conservative point of view. I do appreciate D’Souza’s views.
He was an American Dissident, that is true. Persecuted unfairly by the government because of who he was. If he had been anyone else, it would have been a fine and slap on the hand at worst, but the Obama administration wanted to make an example of him.
I am part of the way through his latest book “Stealing America: What My Experience with Criminal Gangs Taught Me about Obama, Hillary, and the Democratic Party”
(sigh)
Nahhh, they'll just do what they always do. They'll ignore ALL the facts and call Dinesh a liar along with the other usual slimes.
The left never wants to debate facts with any of us because they always lose.
Ah good. I hate stupid righteous people here on Fr who arent ahead of the curve so I’ll reply: he should not even offer his movie on netflix cause’ I know how they work and Ive dealt with them for 2 years now. Try everything from Youtube, Rapidvideo, Vimeo and they monetize. Ah yeah, that idiot who has no clue on how torrent “really” works.
Yes, I am a stickler on this as I have had people steal my work and not pay for it. Always a concern. So, regardless of source, politics, etc., I make an effort to not do that to others. If I watch a movie, for example, I pay for it.
You seem hostile towards me, I hope that isn’t the case.
I assumed “torrent” lets you download and watch content without paying to watch? (Say, something new like “Deadpool2” or something like that?)
Is that correct?
The last movie I saw at a theater was when I took my son to see the first Transformers movie. Prior to that was when I took my daughter to see The Lion King.
Since 2000 our one indulgence was the DirectTV Platinum package that gave us every channel. I got mad at AT&T so we now have the Ultimate package for Verizon FIOS. I mainly watch movies and have them on in the background while I work in my home office.
If I want to see a movie I will wait until it hits our TV or will buy the BluRay.
My wife and I will have been together for 40 years this coming September and we probably have gone to see maybe ten or so movies the entire time. We go out and do many other things as we both detest going to theaters.
Agreed. I do not steal movies. I dont consider it right. I hope none of these who do this all the time here complain about anyone ripping off taxpayers with welfare and benefits they didnt earn or they dont need.
It would be more of an issue if there were something worth stealing, but there isn’t. Western media, across the board, is complete garbage.
I abandoned it long ago, and for many years lived a media-less life. But recently I’ve discovered Japanese anime and WOW is it a breath of fresh air. None of the political trash - real creativity and originality and serious talent.
Check this out if you want to see something that blows away anything Hollywood has produced in decades... just one of many Japanese animes that exceed that threshold.

I’m so into it I’ve started to learn Japanese to enhance my enjoyment (though it’s not necessary at all to do so).
Dinesh always makes good solid movies. Can’t wait to see it.
I still remember seeing a special screening of Steve Bannon’s “The Undefeated” about Sarah Palin.
We need to make sure it gets shown in as many theaters as possible, for as long as possible. We may, if we can afford it, advertise for it, and rent movie theaters. Let,s not let them get away with sweeping it under a rug.
