FORT JACKSON, SC (WIS) - A colonel at Fort Jackson was one of more than 30 people arrested in an online predator sting operation led by the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
According to Richland County investigators, Fernando Guadalupe, Jr., was charged with solicitation. According to the U.S. Army website, Guadalupe assumed command of the Leader Training Brigade at Fort Jackson in January 2017.
Fort Jackson issued a statement to WIS saying:
We are aware of the allegations of sexual misconduct by a Soldier assigned to Fort Jackson. The Soldier has been suspended from his duties pending the outcome of the investigation. We are fully cooperating with local authorities of the Richland County, SC Sheriff's Department. The Fort Jackson leadership takes these allegations seriously. Sexual misconduct is inconsistent with Army values and the Army profession. For information regarding this case, please contact the Richland County Sheriff's office.
Guadalupe was one of 38 people arrested in the Richland County Sheriff's Department's "Operation Full Armor," where the arrests range from prostitution to the solicitation of a minor.
The colonel's charge is not associated with minors.
WIS has reached out to the Richland County Sheriff's Department for more information on Guadalupe's arrest and hasn't received a response.
I want Hispanics in government and military ‘limited’ and selective....and that goes for other nationalities as well we do not have stable relationships with.
Lol. If they actually tried to enforce that most of the Navy would be at Portsmouth Naval Prison.
Name the world’s best ever Hispanic military?
What are you talking about? I was in Nam with guys named Uribe and Rodriguez and Garcia.... They are as American as anybody. Are you nuts? We had “hispanic” descendant troops in every war we were ever in. Heck. There were the Tejanos that fought Santa Ana. There were Hispanics in the Revolutionary War.
64 Hispanics have won Medals of Honor. The first one in 1864 at Gettysburg.
Jeez.
“The colonel’s charge is not associated with minors.”
Although, they say he has not involved with minors, a paragraph into the article, the headlines makes it sound like he was involved with minors?
I hear bar fines are now prohibited by the UCMJ. I’m glad I retired before they banned them.
Video at the link indicates he was soliciting prostitutes.
So he likes women and whores, wow. The article is deliberately and confusingly vague and poorly written The colonel was really dumb as there are plenty of free sex sites on the net.
