The two former real-life secretaries of state will be joined by a third former secretary, Madeleine Albright, on the episode. The fictional secretary of state of CBS' Madam Secretary will turn to three former real-life holders of the post when the show begins its fifth season.
Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright will appear as themselves in the episode, set to air Sunday, Oct. 7. The trio filmed their cameos on July 11, Madam Secretary's first week back in production.
"Were delighted to have these three former secretaries of state be part of our season premiere," said series creator and executive producer Barbara Hall. "It was a privilege to experience their perspectives and discourse both in and behind the scenes."
Added EP Lori McCreary, "Having three powerhouses of diplomacy agree to come on our show is awe-inspiring and humbling. And that we were able to find a time in their busy schedules when they were all available is a miracle."
In the episode, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) asks Albright, Powell and Clinton for advice on a delicate matter.
Albright served as secretary of state from 1997-2001 under President Bill Clinton and was the first woman to hold the post. She has appeared on Madam Secretary once before, guest-starring early in season two. She's also played herself on Parks and Recreation and Gilmore Girls.
Powell was George W. Bush's secretary of state from 2001-05. The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had an uncredited cameo on JAG in 1997.
Hillary Clinton served under Barack Obama as secretary of state from 2009-13. She did a cameo on Broad City in 2016 and appeared opposite her Saturday Night Live portrayer, Kate McKinnon, in 2015.
Powell and Albright are both 81. History. Hillary early 70’s. Time for another run.
General Powell, are you SURE You want to do this?
By your own admission Hillary f**ks-up everything she touches due to her hubris.
Diversity. All three voted for Obama twice.
Dont kid yourself Powell is a back stabbing traitor

Makes me glad I’ve never watched an episode.
I wish someone would make a blimp of Hillary in that great big tent she was wearing at one of her many speaking gigs recently. Then float it above her next public venue.
If they can do it to President Trump then it should be OK to ridicule the ‘loser’.
Where, oh where is the BARF alert?
She’s going to need the money to pay her legal fees:

No Condi? Racist misogynists. (/s)
The show has gone from barely acceptable to bad to ****. Kudos to CBS for cutting off the free feed on their website. I've also had to stop watching "Elementary" and "Life in Pieces". Thanks EdnaMode.
Wow! Lotta turds in that punchbowl!
Meanwhile, Ambassador Stevens remained unavailable for comment.
Well, Colin Powell fills the role of the black former sec of state, so they avoid charges of racism/sexism, by having both a black and a woman secretary of state on the show.
So they didn’t need/want Condoleeza Rice???
they have a Republican and a Democrat, so they can avoid charges of political statements being made .
Are they going to replay the scene where Powell tells Hillary to use a private email account?
Probably a dumb question, but, is Tea Leoni a liberal secretary of state on the show, serving with a liberal president??
Maybe dumb. I recall how the president on “The West Wing” TV show was said to be a liberal dream president.
Would Hollywood serve up anything in the political area, in which the good guys are not liberal????
Isn’t Madam Secretary just a Hillary redo? And in the season ender Madam decided to run for president?
I can see the resemblance:
Blonde ✓
Married to sex addict ✓
Peaked in the 1990s ✓
My bad.
That show is a triple barf-bagger. I watch it with my wife but occasionally “have to leave to make a call”.
I am not sure why a former Secretary of State would appear on some television serial. A sense of propriety seems sorely lacking. But is that so surprising given who they are?
