I have seen a herd of similar umbrellas ripping down a beach in high wind. It was laughable and frightening at the same time.

The artist Christo had an Umbrella Installation in the Tejon Pass north of Los Angeles, in the 90’s. During a particularly bad thunderstorm one of the umbrellas, anchored in cement, broke off and hit a woman causing her death from head trauma. We drove up to see the Art Installation before that happened........it really was pretty. But not worth the death of anyone.
