I have seen a herd of similar umbrellas ripping down a beach in high wind. It was laughable and frightening at the same time.

I recall years ago, a Midshipman at the Naval Academy was impaled by a javelin. This was at a track and it hit him in the heart.
He survived.

Waters said paramedics cut off part of the shaft to facilitate transportation to a hospital. The woman was said to be conscious after the incident. Lady to paramedics, "Whatever you do. Don't. Push. The button!"
