When I saw Putin land at HEL the other day I thought his plane lacked the distinction of AF1 and looked like a regular passenger plane. So this article is kind of interesting.

However, they say it can reach about Mach 1.5, sounds like BS to me.

"Max speed - 900 knots (1,035mph)"

"On Earth, the speed of sound at sea level — assuming an air temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius) — is 761.2 mph (1,225 km/h)."

Personally I think AF1 was a step down from Trumps personal plane. It’s just that AF1 has more security than the private plane.

Willow Run B-24s.

The long hanger at Willow Run, Michigan has a 90 degree turn in it so Henry Ford would not have to pay taxes in the next county. That short end is being saved and restored today as a museum. The big hanger doors are still operational after all these years.

This is one of the best and most informative clips about a great American accomplishment, thanks to the Ford Motor Company during WWII.

A Ford Airplane! AMAZING!

Production began here 6 months BEFORE Pearl Harbor! Henry Ford was determined that he could mass produce bombers just as he had with cars, so he built the Willow Run assembly plant and proved it. This was the world’s largest building under one roof at the time. This film will absolutely blow you away — one B-24 every 55 minutes! — and Ford had its own pilots to test them. And no recalls!

ADOLF HITLER HAD NO IDEA THE U.S. WAS CAPABLE OF THIS KIND OF THING.

MAGA

It looks pretty nice; Trump would like the gold-plated toilet!

Right....a red, white and blue....passenger plance.

And IIRC, Trump is having AF1 painted red, white and blue.

You can put all the gold fixtures, fancy wood and nice leather in you want, but it still is a Ilyushin Il-96. I suppose you could also gold plate a Yugo. Although the plane is a relatively recent design, it doesn’t have nearly the safety pedigree that a Boeing airplane has.

That’s sea level. Speed o’ sound drops to 600 at altitude.
