Stone County sheriff reports 8 fatalities after duck boat capsizes on Table Rock Lake.
Wowser. Could’ve been one of the “duck” tour boats that went down. This happened in Hot Springs AR in 1999. The shade cloth entangled people so they couldn’t swim away in time.
Very sad.
Prayers.
Was it the thunderstorm?
Strong storms moved through. +80 MPH winds.
Hey - we went on the duck boats when we were in Branson years ago - glad it didn’t capsize then - wife can’t swim....
O no, another Duck. Oat incident. Those things have a history with this stuff. Prayers up.
I think they are all still owned by Hershend family Entertainment.
That’s going to be it for the Duck Boats.
They are finished.
An old high school friend operates one of those boats. Praying for all.

Stone County sheriff reports 8 dead, 7 injured after duck boat capsizes.
31 on board per KTTS radio news. Headline reports 10 dead.
Months back saw one here on the Big island leeward, did see it launch, but not many people on board. Looked like it had been all painted getting ready for business. Never seen it out in the ocean past the harbor.
After this, likely will never see one do more than enter the water and then get right back out.
Two duck boats appear to have been bow on into the seas. One appears to be holding position, and the other appears to have attempted a run to shore. The one made some headway initially, then succumbed to taking on water over the bow. Last frames of the video show wave tops even with the side of the vessel’s passenger compartment.
11 dead and 5 missing.
Tragedy...up to 13 now dead. They usually have teens or young adults driving those ducks. They probably didn’t have the common sense to NOT drive out into the lake during a bad storm. The company should have been monitoring the weather and adjusting their schedule. That was their job.
Very sad news.
RIP.
