What you're about to see in this dramatic video is probably not a standard police tactic. The bodycam video shows a Las Vegas police officer in pursuit of a vehicle driven by murder suspects. There is an exchange of gunfire featuring the astonishing sight of a police officer firing 11 shots through his own windshield.
The SUV eventually came to a stop at the wall of an elementary school. Police fatally shot one suspect and wounded the other, who tried to escape into the school where kids were in summer session. Both men were later determined to be felons with lengthy records.

But worth the price.
Tough day for the local Safelite Repair guy.
Is he deaf now?
Oddly, I recall an article by Elmer Keith, maybe 50 years ago. He suggested that police cars have a round opening in their windshield which could be opened so the cops could shoot through it.
I thought it was crazy but maybe not.
Do they teach anything about ballistics in cop school?
I enjoyed Keith’s writing. Also Skeeter Skelton...
It’s fortunate that no innocent people were shot and killed.
It is a cool video, though.
Yes, all the great ones are gone.
Jordan, Keith, Skelton, Adkins, Capstic, Arnold, and probably others I can’t recall.
There are none today of their equal. Not even close.
Elmer Keith generally knew what he was talking about.
Sounds like something that would have been in Roy Doty's Wordless Workshop, which appeared each month in Popular Science 50 years ago.
Just remembered Jack O’Connor, Russel Annabel, and before their time, Townsend Whelen, and Karamojo Bell.
Looks like fun!!
"The .357 is a good weapon but I've seen .38s bounce off windshields."

A sally port.
LVPD needs to buy patrol units with “Sun Roofs”then
add a ride partner with a Ruger Mini-14 OR Springfield M-1A.
Get’er Done!
Does it follow the old ‘angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection rule’?
Does the spin of the projectile effect it?
I think that’s why the cop shot thru the windshield. He could maintain sight alignment and see what was beyond his target. Shooting out the side window is just crazy dangerous stupid.
Thats what I was thinking. Where will those rounds really end up?
A Sally port is the garage at the police station.
How could I have left out Col. Jeff Cooper?
The man I agreed with 100% of the time except about guns.
If you are going to be a bear, be a grizzly!
Go for belt fed with a pintle mount!!!
This link shows the mug shots of the perps.
Wonder what their immigration status is.......
