As many of you know, my post Men Prefer Debt-Free Virgins Without Tattoos went viral and is causing quite a stir. I should have definitely titled it “Godly Men Prefer Debt-Free Virgins Without Tattoos.” I want to make clear that the audience I teach are those young women who want to learn biblical womanhood as according to God’s instructions in Titus 2:3-5. They love the Lord and His beautiful ways.

Assuming that’s her year of birth, she’s pushing 40 now.

Wonder what it looks like these days.

The sewing thread spools in the ears are bad enough.

Just wait until they decide those neck-stretching rings come into vogue.

I see into the future when someone develops a process to remove tattoos effectively. This individual stands to make millions in the process.

I've been watching for that process to be developed/invented because I want to invest in the company that does so.

“In my generation, (1970s) woman with tattoos were considered sluts.”

Playing off that...
I remember my college psych professor (mid 1980’s) lecturing on the Freud father/daughter dynamic. He said that if you go to pick up a girl, a bad relationship with her dad was a bigger green light than a tattoo.

True, but that is beside the point.

Hey Michael, good to see you're still around here. i'm a fan.

As to your point, the link to the article seems to think just the opposite since they cite that passage. i merely followed the grand FR tradition of not reading the article before i posted.

i had to see what kind of narrow minded anti-gospel trash the article was pushing and it was the usual anti-gospel trash that substitutes the sovereignty of God for mechanistic works that are worthless.

Fact is according to Romans 1:18-32, we're all "born that way", whatever "that way" means to any particular individual.

i have to wonder what the original poster would think of one such as Dr. Rosaria Butterfield.

To more immediately address your point though:
On the contrary, my comment is very relevant. It is relevant because this person is advocating a visible standard, without looking at what God has done in the life of the sinner in question...that is to say every human being on the face of the earth.

i detect the unique stench of Bill Gothard in the teaching advocated by this article, in that the woman described is probably living at her parent's home --about the only way for a young, unmarried woman to live debt free these days, particularly if attending college.

i have to wonder whether the same standards are applied to men.

Haha. That's a good one there. Her future husband probably won't like that though.

I’m just glad that the African lip-plate thing has not caught on here. Yet.

Have you seen the plugs they put in their ears and nose?

I never got the whole tattoo thing. On woman, no matter how fine they are, it’s a real turn off. They just don’t think it through that they aren’t going to be 21 forever.

I got my 1st tat when I was 49. I had it put on my shoulder to try and avoid that. It is almost 9 years later and it still looks great. I had 2 more a few years later. I am very happy with them and, so is my husband. It is just like so many things. People have opinions and that is fine. I was waiting for my Mom to say something when she saw them, knowing she did not really approve. She acknowledged the meaning behind them and the artistry. How cool. Yes, she would prefer I had not had any but was less judgemental than I anticipated.

Still true. When they are in their 40’s and they get their first tattoo... start lining up a divorce lawyer. They are cheating.

Unfortunately, yes. They're pretty bad, but not as bad as lip plates would be.

Also, imagine what a distended lip would look like without a plate to maintain its shape.
