Denis Ten, a Kazakh Olympic medal-winning figure skater, was stabbed to death Thursday in Almaty, the country’s largest city. He was 25.
Ten was stabbed in the right thigh by two men who tried to steal his car’s mirrors, according to news agency Kazinform. He won bronze at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in the men’s singles competition and was just the fourth Kazakh athlete to win a Winter Olympic medal.
Ten was rushed to the hospital, remaining in critical condition until he died from his injuries three hours later.

Arteries are quick and you just can appreciate how quick. Over the weekend I was working around the house and got a puncture on the palm of my hand from a finishing nail. I could not believe it. Blood squirt 10-12 inches in spurts and there was lots of it. I did apply pressure for about 15 minutes until it stopped. Luckily I had a tetanus shot around Xmas.
Sean Taylor with the Washington Redskins died the same way. 4 thugs broke into his house and he confronted them and one of them shot him in the thigh. It was over before the wife got off the phone with 9-1-1
Look at the size of your thumb from the back of your hand fir width and from the end of the thumb for the diameter. That is the approximate size of the femoral artery

You can bleed into the thigh a lot of blood and not know it.
