Oxygen tank powered by electricity? I’ve seen lots of them and none of them were electric powered.
family is seeing dollar signs.
No, they exist. My father-in-law, God rest his soul, had one in his last days. Unlike oxygen tanks, they don’t run out of oxygen - I think it processes the air or something.
“Oxygen tank powered by electricity? Ive seen lots of them and none of them were electric powered.”
Must have been quite a big tank too, if it took a week before it emptied.
The media calls it a tank but it’s probably a small oxygen generator with a small reserve...not a big tank.
Oxygen generators are powered by electricity.
Probably an oxygen concentrator.
Probably an oxygen concentrator. Tanks are usually provided for ambulatory use by the med equipment company. My wife has been on home oxygen for years and the first thing I did was install a generator and have the med supply folks bring oxygen backup tanks. Her family could and should have helped her long before it came down to her dying.
It's not a tank, it's a machine.
The correct term, here, is Oxygen Concentrator. Details on its operation at Wiki(hah hah)pedia.

Now you know something your didn't know this morning.
OBTW, the relative's home is complete with a stand-by generator. And I make sure her utility bill is paid on time.

Oxygen concentrators run on electricity but pure oxygen for those in critical condition use the bottled gas.
We have one. An electric powered oxygen generator. We also have a engine powered portable generator, just in case.

I’m sure it was an Oxygen Concentrator which does rely on Electricity. I just had a Health Equipment Rental Co. Pick up my Mom’s unit after she passed a couple weeks back.

They were using the electric pumps that supply oxygen. They probably meant the oxygen pump quit after power was cut..
Why didn’t the family summon emergency medical help? Even the Fire Department first-response carries oxygen for treating smoke inhalation.
Probably this oxygen concentration type device:

So...if her power was turned off...she could not re-charge her battery,....
Generator, no tank.
Not an oxygen tank ... it is an oxygen concentration device.
