Heavyweight Champ Stipe Miocic defends his belt against Light HW Champ Daniel Cormier in the main event. DC seeks to be become the 5th 2 division Champ. This is only the 3rd (Reigning) Champ V. Champ match-up in UFC History.
Scheduled co-main between Featherweight Champ Max Holloway and Brian Ortega cancelled due to Holloway developing "concussion-like symptoms". Whether it was a real concussion or just a bad weight cut I can't say.

For those not watching, Lesnar came in the cage with some WWE theatrics and called out DC.

how did stipe do? I see Stipe has got commercials now- for a beer if i remember right- looksl ike he’s getting pretty popular-
He got knocked out in the first round. The guy who took heavy shots for five rounds from Francis Ngannou, got his lights turned off.
ah that’s too bad- I like both fighters- but was pulling for stipe- Just saw the WWE theater shove by brock lesner on daniel after the fight- Golly, i hope MMA turns into WWE s/- Definitely scripted- We don’t need that nonsense in MMA- keep it real-

And I agree with you, watching Lesnar come out in the end wasn’t a good look for the UFC.
Overall, the fights were pretty good. I had Vannata favored over Klose (like the odds makers) and was surprised how well Klose performed. Solid stuff. Assuncao can always be relied on to fight hard. Costa versus Hall was good entertainment, except for the nut shots. Rountree flooring Saki was a bit of a shock. Both are hard hotters but I fully expected Saki to be the victor. My feed totally screwed up for the Chiesa v. Pettis fight, so I only got audio of the result. Saw bits and pieces of the Felder v. Perry fight and then the interview got cut off as the Floribama native was talking.
The co-main event was a massive let-down and both guys should drop in the rankings as a result. Ngannou should be forced to fight Lesnar for his next fight. Put a guy with weak wrestling defense against a wrestler while simultaneously putting a guy with a questionable chin up against a hard hitter (if he actually throws).
And the main event? Wow! Love both fighters. Was leaning toward Miocic but super happy for Cormier becoming “Champ champ”.

Lesnar calling Ngannou and Stipe “pieces of (poop)” was uncalled for. Well Ngannou may have deserved it after that but...to diss a great Champ right after he gets knocked out? DC’s big moment could have done without that.
Obviously I think either man or DC would beat Lesnar’s arse.
The man already came back once and cheated to do so, he’s win over Hunt getting overturned.
If this fight actually happens the PPV will be huge though, which is the point. I get it but, I’ve never been a fan of WWE style nonsense.
Another issue, it sounds like they are gonna let DC keep both belts, possibly. I don’t think that’s good for the sport.

I don’t mind the WWE stuff when it’s done in WWE- but outside of it- Nope- Keep MMA real- don’t make it a sideshow- people will begin to think the fights are rigged- MMA doesn’t need that- it will hurt sales I believe- People want real champs- real fighters- an don’t want to think the game/outcomes are rigged-

Tonight’s Bellator card looks like a total sleeper. Fortunately, sometimes those end up being the most entertaining to watch. I have no idea who to pick, so I’ll go with Nogueira in the main event and Dantas.

Seems bellator is where the fighters who are near past prime, or past prime go. Lyoto is my all time favorite fighter- because of his karate style and demeanor- Would have liked to have seen him remain champ a bit longer— That fight he had with muricio- Dang- what a brutal beating they both took with the massive leg kicks- Hated to see hi m get defeated-
