As I do not have cable and this being Canaduh, there was no coverage of US festivities however, Happy Independence Day! (Or as I say jokingly as a descendant of United Empie Loyalists who had to move from Virginia in 1783 because they sided with George William Frederick of the House of Hanover, rather than that other George Whatchamacallhim 😉, Happy Successful Insurrection Day!)
May your second American Revolution led by President Trump, be successful in bringing your country back to the Constitution AND back to God! As my country Canaduh often follows the trends in the US, I pray that we too, turn back to God. Congratulations on 242 years of success. To those who choose to get angry at my comment, my response is merely, "Lighten up, Francis!"

We recorded Hallmark and PBS, and both were fine. Both had some horrendous parts (fast forward). Rene Fleming: Amazing. The “Max Impact” military rock songs were awful, but the chick’s voice was good. Love Jummy Buffet and Beach Boys.
Stamos’ words to his new son made me cry. He mentions his father and grandfather every year, and what America meant to them.

I've never spent much time watching the Hallmark movies of any kind. My daughter says she loves them, and I am delighted to see Hallmark start their 'round the clock marathon of Christmas movies every fall, usually promptly at midnight on Halloween - to me it's the first solid benchmark on the way to the holiday season and everything great that promises....
I'm not so happy though that Hallmark has joined the "Christmas in July" frenzy that QVC seemed to get started a few years ago to begin selling plastic Christmas trees and fancy candles during some of the hottest days of the summer. It seems like crass commercialism, and more objectionable it holds out false promise that the Christmas season is nearly here - once the movie's over you're faced with the sad prospect that you've still got months to go before the good times are really here - downer......

I can see your points especially the loss of that Christmas feeling following July. I get that. I believed I watched some last July but have not watched any this year mostly due to busier travel schedules with weddings and vacations. Our family is in a wedding cycle right now with 2 last summer and 3 this summer so travel out of state has increased moreso then other years. Not as much time to enjoy tv watching.

Not as much time to enjoy tv watching...or getting naps in either I would guess - that would be a real loss.....
