I've never spent much time watching the Hallmark movies of any kind. My daughter says she loves them, and I am delighted to see Hallmark start their 'round the clock marathon of Christmas movies every fall, usually promptly at midnight on Halloween - to me it's the first solid benchmark on the way to the holiday season and everything great that promises....
I'm not so happy though that Hallmark has joined the "Christmas in July" frenzy that QVC seemed to get started a few years ago to begin selling plastic Christmas trees and fancy candles during some of the hottest days of the summer. It seems like crass commercialism, and more objectionable it holds out false promise that the Christmas season is nearly here - once the movie's over you're faced with the sad prospect that you've still got months to go before the good times are really here - downer......

I can see your points especially the loss of that Christmas feeling following July. I get that. I believed I watched some last July but have not watched any this year mostly due to busier travel schedules with weddings and vacations. Our family is in a wedding cycle right now with 2 last summer and 3 this summer so travel out of state has increased moreso then other years. Not as much time to enjoy tv watching.
