In interviews across the country over the last few days, dozens of Trump voters, as well as pollsters and strategists, described something like a bonding experience with the president that happens each time Republicans have to answer a now-familiar question: How can you possibly still support this man? Their resilience suggests a level of unity among Republicans that could help mitigate Mr. Trumps low overall approval ratings and aid his partys chances of keeping control of the House of Representatives in November.
Hes not a perfect guy; he does some stupid stuff, said Tony Schrantz, 50, of Lino Lakes, Minn., the owner of a water systems leak detection business. But when theyre hounding him all the time it just gets old. Give the guy a little.
Republican voters repeatedly described an instinctive, protective response to the president, and their support has grown in recent months: Mr. Trumps approval rating among Republicans is now about 90 percent.

Can’t say I disagree with the sentiment but would say it ain’t smart to make the statements on a public forum - can picture it being used against you if you were ever forced to defend yourself with deadly force.
The NYT couldn't help themselves, they had to print a piece of Fake News.
That should be the headline here.
Their liberal spawned and pawned media is doing them no good. Their control of the Pravda media is doing them no good.
Recall last summer...the statists held a rally and some dude drove through protesters, killing one of them. The media et al turned that into a "see? They're all Nazis and all we want to do is give peace a chance" Hallmark moment. Trump then came out and noted the "peace" people were full of hate and Antifa. The media went double-ballistic and we had a summer of Antifa and antiAntifa clashes...CNN and other loser outlets used all that to paint Normal Americans as Nazis.
It didn't completely work. Ultimately, the economy took off, Trump defended American interests, NK isn't launching misses, and Trump's reported approval ratings are now taking off. However, some of that agitprop stuck.
The left knows they can't win so they are looking to provoke us again. They know they're outgunned and they would LOVE to see a bunch of Deplorables gun down Antifa or MS-13 in self-defense so they can endeavor to sway public opinion against us.
Clearly self-defense is not to be eschewed...bad guys coming to harm me or family or loved ones beware. But for now, I'm going to let the statists continue hyperventilating and protesting and call us names. I know they know the name calling isn't working and they're losing and MAGA is working for Americans of all shapes and colors and sizes. I'd recommend keeping powder dry and let the Trump Train roll; to give them the equivalent of a Reichstag fire for their side that they so desperately want isn't, in my view, a wise thing.
This is a NYT piece, after all, so lying and distorting are a feature, not a bug.
I’m pushing the “like” button for your post Frank.
Very well said and my exact thoughts.
PS: I’ll be 72 in Aug.
He's also already announced his decision to next focus his attention on taming the Mullahs in Iran, and getting to work on the "Peace Deal" between Israel and Palestine.
He's well into the process of changing the world into the vision he has for it. And the rest of the world will fall into line, just as they are doing with their U.N. dues. Some sooner, some a bit later, but all will come around.
Trust your gut. You were right the first time.

Hahaha! I have said that to myself. :-D
Didn’t see it, but was he talking about G-d?
I was a reluctant backer. My second vote for Trump will be cast with a thousand times more enthusiasm.
