In interviews across the country over the last few days, dozens of Trump voters, as well as pollsters and strategists, described something like a bonding experience with the president that happens each time Republicans have to answer a now-familiar question: “How can you possibly still support this man?” Their resilience suggests a level of unity among Republicans that could help mitigate Mr. Trump’s low overall approval ratings and aid his party’s chances of keeping control of the House of Representatives in November.
“He’s not a perfect guy; he does some stupid stuff,” said Tony Schrantz, 50, of Lino Lakes, Minn., the owner of a water systems leak detection business. “But when they’re hounding him all the time it just gets old. Give the guy a little.”
Republican voters repeatedly described an instinctive, protective response to the president, and their support has grown in recent months: Mr. Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is now about 90 percent.

He’s only revived the economy, cut taxes for workers, eliminated regulations, brought back manufacturing, strengthened the military, gave veterans and the terminally ill more options, tried to build the wall, worked on getting the nuclear weapons out of North Korea, renegotiated bad trade deals, cut out the individual mandate and supported law enforcement. How can you support that?
Sounds like they’re getting bad news. I wonder if they got word presidential approval ratings are ticking up.

The answer is actually quite simple, so much so that even a liberal could understand if they would stop slavishly parroting their party’s required talking points. Support for Trump is summed up in four words:
“He has America’s back.”
No other president since Reagan has put this country’s interests first with such steadfastness.
As an aside, the NYT is buying commercial time on our local (Dayton, OH) “Rush” station during his show hours to encourage new subscriptions.
Things must be getting bad for the Failing NYT to beg for new subscribers in Ohio.

I absolutely adore him, at this point. I’ve actually had dreams where I’m just sitting beside him at a meeting, holding his hand and ready to attack anyone who makes a move at him. I honestly think I’d take a bullet for him at this point, just to give him a chance to do what he came to do.
