Can’t say I disagree with the sentiment but would say it ain’t smart to make the statements on a public forum - can picture it being used against you if you were ever forced to defend yourself with deadly force.

"Trumps low overall approval ratings..."
The NYT couldn't help themselves, they had to print a piece of Fake News.

As Media/Political class kick their hysteric emotional hissy fit over the Trump Presidency into over drive, US Voters laugh at them.
That should be the headline here.

Not to encourage milquetoast sentiments, but that's what they would LIKE to see...not to its full end, but just enough to change the upward trajectory of MAGA.
Recall last summer...the statists held a rally and some dude drove through protesters, killing one of them. The media et al turned that into a "see? They're all Nazis and all we want to do is give peace a chance" Hallmark moment. Trump then came out and noted the "peace" people were full of hate and Antifa. The media went double-ballistic and we had a summer of Antifa and antiAntifa clashes...CNN and other loser outlets used all that to paint Normal Americans as Nazis.
It didn't completely work. Ultimately, the economy took off, Trump defended American interests, NK isn't launching misses, and Trump's reported approval ratings are now taking off. However, some of that agitprop stuck.
The left knows they can't win so they are looking to provoke us again. They know they're outgunned and they would LOVE to see a bunch of Deplorables gun down Antifa or MS-13 in self-defense so they can endeavor to sway public opinion against us.
Clearly self-defense is not to be eschewed...bad guys coming to harm me or family or loved ones beware. But for now, I'm going to let the statists continue hyperventilating and protesting and call us names. I know they know the name calling isn't working and they're losing and MAGA is working for Americans of all shapes and colors and sizes. I'd recommend keeping powder dry and let the Trump Train roll; to give them the equivalent of a Reichstag fire for their side that they so desperately want isn't, in my view, a wise thing.

Yes, Trumps approval is as high or higher than Obamas was. And if not for the constant barrage of negativity and outright defamation from the entire media cabal, his approval would be much higher.
This is a NYT piece, after all, so lying and distorting are a feature, not a bug.

He's knocked ISIS out of Syria, he's renegotiating massive trade deals with Canada, China, Mexico, Britain, The EU and others as he transacts the new peace agreement with and de-nuclearization of North Korea with Kim Jung Un, he's made the USA the place for spending "The Smart Money" for billionaires around the world.
He's also already announced his decision to next focus his attention on taming the Mullahs in Iran, and getting to work on the "Peace Deal" between Israel and Palestine.
He's well into the process of changing the world into the vision he has for it. And the rest of the world will fall into line, just as they are doing with their U.N. dues. Some sooner, some a bit later, but all will come around.

YES!! ;-)
Thanks for taking the time to expand.
The President has quite a list of accomplishments in world affairs in 511 days.
I think he has a clear and pragmatic view of the world. I also think he will put the USA's interest 1st. And I believe it will benefit the entire world in the short and long term for that to happen.
Completely off topic...Happy to get back onto Free Republic. Could not get it to load earlier!
