In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue
In 1792 Bardstown lost 9,000 barrels
What a difference 300 years makes.

This MIGHT be worse than some boating accidents that FReepers have had in the past.

In the interest of Public Safety, I volunteer to take a keg home to take “Integrity Samples” at regular intervals, and report results back to the Consumer Product Protection Agency and the FDA.

They should have hired a descendant of John Jameson, the guy that was loathed to lose even one barrel.

1792 is the date when Kentucky became a state. I don’t know why it is used here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the distillery is nearly as old. Jim Beam was founded in 1795, after all.

YIKES! I drive right by that place on my way home from work. I need to check it out.

They make an excellent bourbon. I’ve got a bottle at home as I type this. Costco sells it for around $23 a fifth.
