Can we have any freeper that watched The Crossing on ABC for the last three months, chip in here.
One of the few new good TV series lately and the networks are killing it.
Did you like it, wasn't it original, unique, etc.
Not my impression. It is neither left nor right wing.
Apparently not. "Six," the series about the SEALs that came out before the much better show "SEAL Team" (and I'm surpised to read myself typing that, because "Six" is History Channel and "SEAL Team" is network, and all network shows are teh suck), took a hard left turn in the first episode of it's second season. It turns out the guys who spent the entire first season using guns to kill muslims are actually anti-gun and pro-muslim. And they went out of their way to create storylines (plural) in S02E01 that would bring those facts to light.
I watched The Crossing. I wondered whether they would bring it to a conclusion or have a cliff-hanger when I read that it was being cancelled about 3 weeks ago.
TV (broadcast and cable/satellite) are not helping themselves by cancelling series too quickly. Potential viewers get to where they refuse to watch new series. They don’t want to invest time in the series only to have it cancelled.
TV — both broadcast and cable/satellite — cancelled about 66 programs/series by the end of the most recent season.
If The Crossing had a leftist slant I sure didn’t see it.
I had not even heard of Seal Team. I had seen a listing for 6 but thought it was probably something like 48 Hours.
Let me guess. They probably dont have chicks as Seal members but they will have them in there somehow and in combat. Some are probably gay. I bet every third one is Black, especially the leaders.
How did I do?
I bailed when they killed the FBI girl. I get that it can be interesting and jarring to bump off a supposed main character, keeps viewers on their toes. But it was such pointless shot-in-the-back cheapness.
Right when we get to see if blonde doctor chick would get full Apex powers or if she’d be something in between human and Apex. And I liked the big black guy that was sort of a foster dad to Leah (or Leia). Especially when he cratered the knee of that douchy guy.
At least they could have brought in Sean Bean for a couple of episodes and then killed him off before cancelling the show. LOL
I liked it too. Had potential.
Liked it until the obligatory pervert character showed up late in the season.
Crying shame they did that.
Anyway, the story ended enough that the fans aren’t left hanging.
I liked it too. The Expanse was canceled too. One of the best Sci-Fi shows to come along in some time and quite realistic with good CGI. Then the Sci-Fi channel picked it up and it will live for another season. Hopefully many more as long as they continue to do the same decent writing and CGI.
The Orville is decent too but in a comedic kinda way.
Maybe The Crossing will get picked up by another network. Hope so.
Correction: Amazon picked up The Expanse.
The Expanse is now WAY better than Westworld's second season, which has turned into total caca and just gets worse and worse with each new episode, the worse yet being the ridiculous episode about the noble robot Injun tribe
as Sam Kennison would have screamed at the top of his lungs if he was still alive:
It had an interesting plot but they gave away almost every aspect of the “Lost”-like mystery in the first couple of episodes! I couldn’t believe it - this from Carlton Cuse who helped mastermind so many aspects of the Lost series and kept me glued to that show with so many twists and turns. After the first couple of episodes it lost (no pun intended) a lot of momentum for me. The “what’s going to happen next” aspect just didn’t have any go-juice.
I like Steve Zahn but he didn’t work real well in the lead role. I also wasn’t that intrigued by the super-powered Apex chick. And when they killed off that Homeland Security chief, I thought they killed one of the best characters - way too early. She and Steve Zahn had a good chemistry, working the mystery (that was left that is) from opposing but allied sides.
Yes she was FBI, I just said she was Homeland Security.
If I like one it is usually the kiss of death. They cancel this show and Zoo got three seasons. 😀
Sure most of them are not a bit left wing they are over the top loony left.
That was a great show.
Have to agree.Westworld is getting too convoluted.Ford must have been “tripping”
.
No surprise here. Every time I see a show which becomes one of my favorites, it gets cancelled.
