Alan Longmuir has taken ill on holiday
If he’s in a Mexican hospital then he doesn’t have long to live.
Get out of there, dude, and get to the USA.
Are they sure he wasn’t poisoned? It’s happened to many tourists in Cancun.
“Bay City Rollers legend”
Ok, let’s not get carried away here.
Isn’t he right up there with Mick and Keith?............
If you’ve been told once, you’ve been told a thousand times, don’t drink the water!
So if the thugs don’t get you, the food and water will (and the hospitals if you get ill). And Cancun is one of the few places in Mexico that is still considered a ‘tourist’ destination....
Addressing him as a “legend” is a bit of a stretch.
The Bay City Rollers were a one-hit-wonder of dubious talent.
I wish him a speedy recovery just the same.
Amen. They will gouge you 5k a day for no treatment and hold you hostage until you pay in cash!
Yeah, that one caught me off guard.
Back in the day Mexico was my FAVORITE place to vacation. Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Cozumel, Playa De Carmen, Los Cabos, Tulum...and in the early 80’s I lived 2 minutes from Tijuana in Imperial Beach, CA.
I will NEVER set foot in that country, again.
Prayers up for a Bay City Roller. A parody of a band before the word ‘parody’ was coined. ;)
BUT those of us of a ‘certain age’ had their album, cassette or 8-Track for sure! ;)
Source is a Scottish site, not US. The Rollers are from Scotland.
Howard Cosell was convinced they’d be the next Beatles.
Prayers for him.
I grew up in Bay City, Mi.
Went to City Hall to see the group receive the key to the city when I was like 13.
On the way back to the west side my friend’s sister was driving and we pulled up next to their limo not knowing or caring who it was.
They rolled down the back window, smiled and waved before the cop escort slowed in front of us pushing us back.
Most embarrassing moment ever. I was in my first rock band at 13 and all that mattered to me then was Rush and Yes.
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Night! (head shake)
I remember watching roller derby on TV, but I thought it was the Bay City Bombers.
Cancun is one of the few places in Mexico that is still considered a tourist destination....
They’re trying to change that.
