Scientists Prove Limestone Can Form Quickly

BY TIM CLAREY, PH.D. * | THURSDAY, JUNE 07, 2018

Many environmentalists are concerned with the anthropogenic production of carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels. Research projects are being funded across the globe to find ways to sequester the “extra” CO2 produced by these processes in an effort to save our planet.

These results show that the primary minerals that compose limestone can rapidly form—easily within the timeframe of the global Flood in Genesis.

One of these projects was discussed recently in an article by Valeria Perasso of the BBC News Service.1 She detailed the efforts of a company called CarbFix, a consortium consisting of Reykjavik Energy, the French Centre for Scientific Research, the University of Iceland and Columbia University.

This is weapons-grade stupid. Comparing a human-driven process to natural formation of limestone. All while ignoring stratigraphy and sedimentology, not to mention paleontology.

Saw this several years ago when reading about debunked high-tech out-of-place artifacts found in allegedly millions of years worth of limestone.

I don't really understand the desire of some to say the earth is young. There is nothing in the bible that says how long a "day" for god is, since he's timeless and the 24 hour day is a human invention based on rotation of a planet around a sun, both of which didn't even exist before God made them. For all we know a "day" in God's immortal terms is 10 trillion years as we understand time.

So why does earth need to be young for the bible to be true?

There is nothing in the bible that says how long a "day" for god is,

"God, what's a million years to you?"

God says, "It's just a second."

"God, what's a million dollars to you?"

God says, "A penny."

"God, can I have a penny?"

God says, "Sure, in a second."

First off, 2 Peter 3:8 does not mean God can’t tell time. If you read the full Chapter it is a promise that God has not forgotten. His mind is so great that He can remember 1000 years as clear as we remember yesterday.

God told Moses it took Him 6 days. Exodus 20:11, if Genesis 1 isn’t enough proof.

Jesus told us to believe Moses’ writings: John 5:46-47

So why does earth need to be young for the bible to be true?

God's use of the term "day" was a revealed time period to Moses when he wrote the book of Genesis, which was roughly 24-hours. God could have created the entire Earth in a blink of a human eye, but chose to reveal to us that He did it in stages. A young Earth is not Christian doctrine but the 6,000 year claim came from a young monk that was tasked with a chronological accounting from Genesis to his current time and he stated that he could only account for 6k years.

What it boils down to is this, we are only able to understand a limited amount of what is available to us to analyze. As we gain more understanding of something through scientific inquiry and discovery, our science changes. We adapt and postulate new theories then repeat the scientific method. The history of mankind is relatively short. How long it took the Creator to make something is irrelevant. That He made it, is not.

When evolutionary scientists attempt to join proteins in a controlled lab environment, it is hailed as earth-shattering news. When a creation believing scientist demonstrates how something once believed to take eons can be done relatively quickly, it is called junk science. This reveals the political and ideological bias of the reporters.

I think it's a conceit for us to assume that God tells time the same way we do. It's like assuming he's groggy every morning until he gets his first cup of coffee. Our experience of the universe is not his experience of it. To one who is timeless and immortal, what is time? It's important to us because we're mere fleas that will die and so time is an important measure of our lives. To project that to heaven and assume God carries a clock around doesn't make sense to me.

A lot of Evangelicals and just about all fundamentalists follow a system of numerology that says God will destroy the earth after 7,000 years and usher in paradise, before that there is a 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom and so by their way of thinking the earth MUST be right around 6,000 years old now. Their hope for salvation, heaven, depends on this timeline working out just like their system says it should. So when some preacher says “the Gospel stands or falls” on the timing of some event in Genesis, he really believes that. The obsession with numerology and constructing past and future timelines is an unfortunate thing and can be misleading and distracting from more important things.

When God interacts with us the way we understand time, he does so in ways and terms that we understand. When He says day, he uses a term we can understand.

He doesnt use time terms we don’t understand when speaking of creation events. That obviously would not be helpful and only create confusion. Further he would not use the same terms but put vastly different meanings behind them without explicit explanation that was exactly what he was doing, otherwie it would cause confuuon and uncertainty.

Simulations can be highly valid. Nothing too complex about limestone formulation. You’re barking up the wrong anti-God tree.

Global warming simulations demonstrate what happens when you approach a similation with bias. Same thing here.

No, I am pointing out that being anti-nonsense does not mean anti-God. It only takes the simplest study of stratigraphy to demonstrate the Flood is not represented in Geology in any manner.

God communicated the fact that He created the Earth in six days. He was talking to His creation, so He would use the same terms we use.

Stop trying to ignore what He clearly said, and just accept it.

Do you suppose it was a different God that had Peter write :

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Moses was the first prophet..

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

*******

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

**********

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Regardless of what man claims, this earth is not young... However, God had Peter pen exactly how God counts time ... IIPeter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Peter also describes that flood of Genesis 1:2 ... in what Peter calls (II Peter 3: 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

I’m more interested in how the Lord got all the water here. Gradually or all at once? Without wrecking the planet.

Stop trying to ignore what He clearly said, and just accept it.

As others have pointed out, he also said through St. Peter that for Him 1 day was as a thousand years to us, and vice versa. So what's 1 day in Genesis mean really?

The thing is, when it comes to making assumptions about the nature of God the only one I make is that I can't hope to fathom it or reason it out. I'm no Aquinas or Calvin or ... pick your personal favorite theologian ... so if others are smarter and more well read and all that, cool. I'll stick with not trying to figure out why the science we have is all wrong because it doesn't match my assumptions about God.

If you read Hebrew, you'd understand that the word used for "day" in Genesis literally means 24 hours.
